Join Luke as he heads into the Darkness of the Night.

Its sucks to go through something like that with your brother. I know exactly how you feel, my brother and I have only talked maybe 3 times on the phone since covid started. Personally I think he is going through his mid life crisis, kicked in by his son moving out as soon as he turned 18. Brothers will always be brothers though and I know if I just wait him out he'll eventually come around. Good luck buddy

Sometimes family has a falling out. And one party doesnt even remember why or where it went wrong. Just remember that in these times all we have left is communication, just remember how to use it and talk it out. Save each other a lot of underlying stress. I wish it all works out for you and your brother, and youll be reunited soon. Cause you know what, life is just to short. Cheesy, but its facts. ❣

Me and my brothers are really close , but there are times where we kinda drift apart or we just have enough of one another , but would still do what ever I could for either one of them ! Like you and your brother we have had our own things we went through growing up . Just keep the line open and he will come around . God Speed !

You are right sir. My mom lost her husband and my uncle didn't sent her a card or message. My aunt died and I had a conversation with my mom if she was gonna sent him a card with condolences. He didn't sent her a card when my dad died and she was very disappointed so why should she sent him a card. He was a jerk but is this a reason to be a jerk also? No. Show what you are made off and you do actually care about his feelings loosing his wife. She took my advise and she did sent him a card. Life is too short to hold grudges. I hope you understand what I'm saying. You can be upset about something but still angry after months or years, the only one hurting is you.

The Go Pro footage looks great, you should keep using it! It's not as "cinematic" as your other videos, but I don't personally watch it for that, and others might. For me it's the content of the video that matters, not the quality of the footage.

12:37 I notice you like to be aware of your environment as you should("bad motives").I hope you can make a video on this topic and I'm not sure how to exactly... but something about the vast array of people you may meet on trail/camping. How do you know how much to trust them/when not to trust anyone but yourself(whether it's where to sleep or where to use the bathroom or how far to the next rest area ect.). the vibes shady people give vs the vibes truthful and helpful people will emit may be mistaken very easily by many. Also how to determine when some one you meet on trail/or even brought with you NEEDS help but won't admit it, and how to help them without making them feels. Thanks for reading : )

I guess it's different of you're female or male. Im a 26y woman, I don't, ever, stop to help unless it looks like a real fricken crisis. At nights driving home, I don't even stop for cars with warning lights. Sorry. Too many sickos out in the world. If I'm going for a long hike, I always take someone with me. It sucks that I don't dare hiking alone, but I just don't want to risk it. I have a pretty good gut feeling. If everything feels off the sharts, I bolt it or hurry away. When people are seeming too needy or there seems to be a hurry with things, be wary. Sorry for responding when you wanted one from the channel itself, but I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Quality looks good enough to not mind if you wanted to go light-weight sometimes, but DSLR is always top, but everyone knew that! The crazy part is that you still did some B-roll of you walking etc, even during a 55km hike, that is dedication! Stay safe, love from Sweden!

The image quality, resolution is very good. The colors are vivid but natural, as in real life. I can see sometimes a bit barrel distorsion at the edges. Beside the lack of bokeh/depth of field effect this is perfect.

My brother and I have been on falling out ever since the Folks split the sheets back in 54. We had our very own private CIVIL WAR. It will be 50 years the 20th of this month my brother decided to end it all 50 feet from Mom's front door step when I was 50 miles south of the DMZ in Vietnam. He was constantly in my face about not being to do well in a fight. Maybe that was do to the fact that I rely could not see a foot in front of my face. I thought things were on the mend that summer. I hope I did not sadden you by getting this of my chest. Strength and Honer. I will always enjoy your videos. They have given me the incentive to hike in this Nevada desert.

I haven’t talked to my brother in years, however I had the widow maker heart attack, and I survived it but barely. I learned something through the experience, time is mankind’s biggest and true enemy. Time sneaks up on you, time catches us all, and time takes us all. Tomorrow is not guaranteed as all we have is today, I hope everything works itself out Luke as all we really have in this life is each other. Love what you do and nothing but well wishes to you and your family and all of those that enjoy your site.

The sound at times was not as good but certainly adequate. Also, you’re still good and young. Keep going. Keep pushing. I hike and climb mountains with 68 & 72 year olds. Prior to transplant and then marriage my Jam of Challenge used to be slalom skiing, that also kept me camping. In order to be near water that generally meant a state park or forest. Thanks in no small part to you and your wife I have been digging out all the old gear and conditioning repairing or replacing in lieu of my wife and I hiking into the Hoosier National Forest and getting her into camping. 2 years ago she would never had agreed to tent camp, strictly a Holiday Inn camper. I will also need to email the producers of alone and thank them for inspiring my wife to go into the woods. Crazy part is she came up to me two weeks ago and says "I would hike into the woods with you and camp", I nearly fell over. She has also vicariously watched some of your content via sitting next to me, guessing that helped too. I never thought I would get her out ... Of the city! yay I really mean yay!

I have been watching your channel since very early year, and kinda lost interest from this subject matter, but recently, i came back to watch your channel again. You are sir, very nice and well spoken man the same as you were years before, even though your channel have gone big now. Always love your story telling.

You lucked out with the weather. A bit of rain. A bit of humidity later. Thanks for taking us along.

Hey Luke thanks again for another great adventure. I think the Go-pro is great very clear, colors great, no problems with sounds. This was a beautiful area. I hope Susie is doing much Better. I sure miss seeing her but I have been praying for her. I know if Donny was here he would say keep on keeping on at 41 you still have some times ahead. I really miss him but trying to keep on myself.

Go pros have came a long way. So far the daylight filming has been excellent. I would like to see you hike in Maine again. Hopefully with less mosquitoes! Great job keep it up! Thank you.

Go Pros have indeed come a long way, I remember that back in 2011-2012, Afghanistan footage was kinda shitty and the audio sucked, yet nowadays, a decade later they have very good quality in video and audio

GoPro video looks great, thanks for taking us along! Fall seems early this year, due to cicadas and very hot and dry all summer.

Hi Luke the structure you passed at the start of your trip looked like a lock for an old canal. I don’t know if I could hike the whole trail in one trip like that anymore but thanks for taking me along I enjoyed it very much.

Trees dropping a lot of leaves mid summer is not a sign of fall. It is a sign that we have not had much rain. The trees shed excess leaves to conserve energy in the absence of water. It happens almost every July in Northern Virginia.
