Lol yeah, a 44% completion rate, 2 interception for 114 yards passing on a defense that is good but not great is a very good reason to think twice. Also, if you try running like that in the NFL your career will consist of 5 years full of injuries. I think he will get better with time though he just has to learn how to read defenses and go through his progression faster.

Like the guy literally changes plays at the line of scrimmage in college, that’s insane. his intelligence is through the roof and his football IQ is as well. he’s tied with reading defenses in the draft in my opinion(tied with Mac Jones), he’s the best at throwing anticipatory balls, he’s also the best at fitting the ball into tight windows. And for Wilson, he’s great as well. He has tremendous arm talent, the best and fastest release in the draft, and he’s the only one in the draft who can throw off of any platform. The guy is very Aaron Rodgers/Mahomes like. Of course i’m not comparing them as a player, just as a skillset alone.

This stat line says this was a terrible game. Film wise it's really overstated how bad this game was. They couldn't do those typical deep option routes they're used to becaue of pressure. Every time they went short his WRs were getting smached. Most of the shots he took downfield were just that, 50/50 shots. I don't know how you watch this game and assume he struggles getting through progressions when he's running off his life on half the plays. One of those interceptions was a great play by the CB on a fade, not a misread. Was not a great game, but was more about injuries/COVID and NW defense then Fields abilities. All this game really told you is that NW was really good. Oh and he still threw some beautiful balls.
@ecyranot
@ecyranot 3 роки тому
He looked very hesitant. His footwork in the pocket looked leaden. He's a good runner, doesn't go down on first contact. But some poor throws, completely missing his targets, no matter who they were. Don't know how to read this game other than a mediocre to poor performance.
@marcallen1621
@marcallen1621 3 роки тому
@@ecyranot I count 1 really bad decision where he was trying to do too much 3:07. I count a so so decision where he thought he could just out throw the safety 8:35. Other then that I see very inexperienced WR play and weak Oline play. Which makes sense considering all the the guys they had out due to COVID. Hell, it is clear that on one of the INT is an option route where he read come back but the WR kept going. Some of what you call hesitation was him looking downfield, because they run a lot of deep option routes, everything cover so him throwing the checkdown. As far as being off that was 50/50. Sometimes he was putting the ball where he could and the DBs were doing a great job. I'm not arguing it was a great game. But it's not so poor a game you ignore his 22 games worth of film.

steven padilla Trevor Lawrence had 8 interceptions in 6 games last year, 200 yards passing and virtually lost against North Carolina, didn’t even throw a single touchdown against LSU in the National Championship, pretty much was outperformed by Justin Fields in both of their meetings...but somehow you’re projecting all of this strife and struggle at the next level for Justin Fields when he has been the kid that did the most with the least which is what I call a common sense measurable...Think about it he’s had The least amount of time on a team, the least amount of years starting, the least amount of games played, and the most problems and uphill battles that were created by factors beyond him like injuries, school transfer, COVID impact etc and Fields still finished as the top dog out of every QB in his class...but b/c he’s black he needs to fear not being good enough but Trevor Lawrence doesn’t have anything to fear b/c we know he’s guaranteed to be great right??? In closing sir, stop hating and projecting failure on Fields when there is more reason/evidence to believe Trevor Lawrence will be a bust than Justin Fields.

But he dumped it everytime. He can’t see out there... Then he takes off fast when that first receiver isn’t there, sometimes on point and sometimes when it’s no pressure at all. Accuracy across the middle even from five yards is trash. If it’s a seven yard out or hitch he literally waits until the receiver stops to throw. But it’s accurate. Them outs are his most accurate. But those aren’t even dimes. Even without the thumb rap he plays like this. He struggles to hit receivers in stride and throw them open. Typical Ohio State QB running a spread college gimmick offense with quick short routes, option, triple option, play action. His reads are usually just half of the field. Rarely any anticipatory throws, late with passes and indecisive. He goes thru progressions but hella slow. In the NFL he will get exposed.
