His awareness under pressure, it’s second nature, also keeps head downfield all at once, super impressive

With Fields, his windup on his throw is interesting which I can see why scouts may be turned off on but he is going through his reads that Rutgers gives him. Miss me with that fake read nonsense. His deep ball is the best one out of all the QBs in this draft, his footwork is impressive and his ball placement and accuracy is on point.

@@dba_luke1327 Well if he goes to a team like the 49ers or Patriots that will really protect Fields, that will not be case. If he goes to the Jets, Broncos, or the Bears, I am confident he is getting sacked.

As a Bears fan, I don't watch college football. And when you wrote "windup" is what I see.....a delivery that is too slow for the nfl.
@joshuatalley7834
@joshuatalley7834 3 роки тому
@@jojopuppyfish Definitely not too slow for the NFL. Carson Wentz has a windup to his throws and he's was an MVP candidate in 2017, so does Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson. Alex Smith has a little windup as well. It'll get faster as he continues to develop.

In watching the replay, you can’t help but notice Master Teague and his ability to block for the quarterback as well as his pass catching efforts as a safety valve.

I just finished watching Trevor Lawrence vs Pitt. Watching these guys one after the other like that, I'm just amazed at how people have anointed Trevor the number 1 QB over Lawrence. Justin is the better quarterback. What can Trevor do that Justin can't? Look closely when Trevor has to go through more than one read. He rarely has to do it because his offense is focused on one read plays, but when he does, it doesn't come naturally to him. Justin is so good at buying time and allowing the play to develop so that he can get the most yards possible. I am just in shock at the narratives this draft season. They don't match what I am seeing on tape.

still can't believe the bears got him at 11. this could be the first time the bears drafted a franchise quarterback too. i never heard any of that talk when trubisky was drafted from the media or fans. he was more of still of a project. the fields is way more ready to start than trubisky ever was. i'd be ok of fields sat all rookie year even if the bears go 0-17 under dalton or foles too. let him learn and only get reps in when appropriate and not rush him or risk injury

It comes down to potential. Fields has played agaisnt better talent, played well in big games and checks a lot of the boxes you want to see. But also because he played against better talent their is more to critique in that as well. Can he get better than he has already displayed? Or at least take his game to the next level? Because if his best is already on film, Im sorry its just not good enough yet for the pros. Im a Bears fan and were thrilled to have this kid. But check out Cam Newton highlights from last year? Does Fields throw better than Cam right now? Run better than Cam? Have better pocket awareness than Cam? Because Cam is only a top 20 starter. I dont think we throw Fields out there unless he can at least outperform a Cam. We have to see how the ball is coming off his hand in training camp, and see how he is picking up the offense. We wont know till preseason games minimum. What I like about Lance. Is he has a lot of potential upside to him. Besides being, only 20? He is a big physical gifted quarterback who is a powerful runner, something he displayed a lot in his highlights in each game. I can see where a team could fall in love with him. If they can get him to be a better pocket passer they can mold him into something special. He has all the tools and and physical gifts that you cant teach. And he is so young. He played against weaker talent than a Fields or Lawerence and some might see that as a knock against him. But than you factor in he is still has so much upside. He already has the physical traits. Mentally they must have really liked him. I know all the pundints say day 1 starter for Lance because he ran a pro style offense in college. But I just dont see day 1 starter. I think he needs a year behind someone. For Fields he is a year older and played against elite talent. Id be shocked if he didnt get a chance to compete out the gates. This is a bit different than Mahommes imo in that this kid already played on the big stage. I know Texas Tech doesnt play the most terrible conference, they have some tough teams. But OSU played for National Championships. Or at least competed to get there. Fields should get on the field before Lance.
@stinkyfish97
@stinkyfish97 3 роки тому
I was actually kind of happy the Niners picked Lance and let us Bears get Fields. And after watching the film highlights of each of these guys games. I see Lance as more Raw but with potentially higher upside than Fields. I have my fingers crossed we got this QB thing right. It feels different than Trubisky.

That was just one instance, but you dont know football if you dont know how difficult off platform and out routes to the sideline throws are.
