I always think she is very genuine if she can be friends with xx, because the birds of the same feather flocks together . I like Kim a lot and I think she is a real soul even she was born with heirs and being label as billionaire daughter all her life .

abuse affects one for a lifetime; the irreversible damage. we just learn to move on with life with it.. The physical scars of an abuse are visible, let's not forget other forms of abuse that is not visible to the eyes. They are no less 'damaging'.

Thanks for doing this interview Xiaxue & Kim. Damn, always had the impression Kim would have airs, etc. haha as a daughter of a billionaire so this was an eye-opener. I guess it goes to show that yes, while billionaires are definitely quite different from the general population in terms of their lifestyle, wealth, and experiences, we're all also still hoomans at the end of the day 😬 P.S. Maybe it's just me but I feel like this image of Kim is much more better and even marketable than the vogue-ish style photos of her we see around Singapore that look quite scary (while also attractive lol) P.P.S. Even the worst child does not deserve to be abused, Kim. You were and are still a good child (at least from this video). Also if you happen to read this comment, I'd like to recommend you a book written by a psychologist who shares six of her cases which involved abusive behaviour from their parents titled "Good Morning, Monster."

31:27 omggggggggggg I thought the same when that traumatic friendship breakup happened I thought I must have been a bad friend and that I need to be a better friend a better person. “Cuz clearly I was unlovable” is what I had thought for a long time

Clicked on this out of morbid curiosity, because I glimpsed something about boarding school! Just a quick note about the accent, as someone who was also sent for boarding (albeit at 15). I have no idea about boys (I suspect it’s not common practice, because I know people from wealthier families than Kim’s who stayed put in RI, Hwach etc) but it’s pretty common for girls from certain schools (SCGS, RGS, NYGH) to be sent off to the same schools from 13 to 16. Essentially at these Singaporean heavy boarding schools in the UK, we live / lived in silo with matrons taking care of us, not interacting with the wider community at all. Later on at uni in the UK and generally, working professionally in London etc, that’s when our accents and identities generally adapt lol. I gather Kim was sent abroad for family rather than educational/professional reasons which is fairly unusual and could be why she talks about markers of authenticity and identity in a different way from most girls who’ve done boarding as well. It’s not uncommon for girls to dislike the ordeal and return home prematurely too as well.

What is happening to part 2?

traumas are the hardest thing to get over with, nine years ago I was bullied by my classmates, as I was standing infront of the goal post while playing girls soccer, suddenly the guys in my class who weren't allowed to enter the field, decided to kick the soccer ball over the fence and it hit my head. I left the field nose bleeding. and went home to take a nap immediately while my nose were still bleeding. thereafter I suffered memory loss, I totally forgot about the incident and I stopped going to school as I suffered from sleep deprivation and headache. almost everyday after school I forgot my way home, and was bullied by my classmates who did a lot of nasty things from placing my bag somewhere else in the school, stole my stuff, always asking me to do their dirty jobs like running errands for them, cleaning up the classroom, task for the chairman Ive to complete it for him, locking and unlocking the classroom door. that year was my n level year, but a month after the head injury I stopped going to school as whatever the teacher taught, I couldn't understand even when teacher tried one to one teaching. I kept having brain fog and screwed up one of my coursework as suppose to save the files into thumb drive, I didnt heard it and save it in my account instead, teacher told me delete it as I was breaching the exam, I broke down, had anxiety arrack for the first time, as back then I was struggling with time as I was way behind everyone. I stopped going to school as I couldn't handle the bullying. the anxiety arrack, the exam duration are too short for me. I didnt further my studies as I didnt attend most of my exam as I was dealing with throbbing headache daily. I was at my lowest point. I didnt want to go to school as I was badly traumatised by classmates following me home. nine years later which was this year, my doctor told me my pituitary gland was damaged. so I google search and back then when I read the cause of it tend to be injuries, and I was thinking to myself, ive never got any head injuries. my mom said I often got kicked in the head by my sister when we were young as we always fight. and a month later I tripped while going up the stairs to the mall, and I nearly hit the railings but didnt, but when I got up, my forehead was bruised. few months later I dreamt of nine years ago, exactly on how I got the brain injury. I google search to found what I suffered all these while was brain injury. I still remember months after the brain injury, I went to see the doctor and was diagnosed with thyroid, my doctor kept insisting on doing MRI as she's sure ive brain tumour, so we did but no tumour. and the past years she kept nagging on doing another MRI scan which my mom declined as we were financial struggling, and my mom felt like there's no issue with my brain. so the doctor was very curious so she wanted to find the answer pretty badly, she send my medical report elsewhere. im glad that Kim's father did a great choice on sending Kim oversea, its best to widen social skills, academically, and to get over the trauma. if didnt, she would've kept repeatedly remember the past every time someone mentioned about the abuser.

Actually 13 is young age to be abroad but not young enough to pick up the Brit accent as it is way past her formative years. So its no big deal that she still has a Singaporean accent..but I like how she is so proud of it and even admits she doesnt try to code switch.

XX, you interviewing Kim Lim or you just telling a story with Kim Lim filling in? Btw psychiatrist only for giving out meds most times, sometimes they can talk but just a bit. You may wish to speak to a psychologist to process the trauma and a counsellor to talk about day to day things.

I think her dad raised her really well, her background is wealthy but she is not pretentious at all and is quite grounded

I am sorry to learned Kim Lee you have went through such a very bad unhappy childhood. Sorry to learned about your cigarette burn scars over the years of abuse. I am glad you received lot of love, supportive from your dad. In my childhood days, I also went through a very sad unhappy. Sometimes, I cried quietly by myself, why I have such a uncaring father? My side are in the opposite to your. On my family side, my mother was the one who gave me a lot of love. I was just rebellion as you, just want to let go my frustration and unhappiness. I got a lot of tendering love, care, communication, supportive from my mother. My father care more for his own interest, his status, his friends and neglected our family. I believe in Karma. The Rules of Living in the world is Kindness. What goes around, always comes around. Eventually, my father wealth gone within 23 years. Wishing you, your family, your father good health, happiness, a loving atmosphere in your home. Doing all the good deed, continue extend kindness to everyone. Oh wow. I wouldn't have guessed she had such a problematic childhood. Even though they don't say who the abuser was, it sure sounds like it was her mom which is even more awful. How could a mother do that to her child? Or any family member for that sake. When she said 'Maybe I wasn't a good enough child' my heart broke for her. 😢 it is never the kids fault!! I feel Kim is often misunderstood from her photos, social media coverage etc. from this video it’s quite evident that she’s really just a normal and down to earth person, stripping away all the photoshoot, glam shots, branded goods etc.

I watched the intro only and i already really like kim well yeah she is super chill. Which reminds me of a saying "people want to be what they are not" the poor wants to be rich And the rich just want a simple and normal life The person would come back and cry it sounds like a women behaviour A man would usually shout and scream and rage when drunk ..

Everyone envies Kim but does everyone knows her struggle. Every one has their struggle so no point envying anyone but pray that everyone is well.

I watched this video when it just release but I dont think you kim lim will read this comment. Just to share with you that i was diagnosed BPD and depression by the psychiatrist at 19 years old after my attempted suicide and warded in the hospital. The very first time when i heard I've bpd from the psychiatrist and i just couldn't believe it. It takes one to know one. I've a very very bad childhood even until the days that i grown up. Im same age as you 1991 but we are really from very diff background tho. Single mon , one son. Not everyone can understand bpd well. Sending love to all people with BPD. Never ez .. no matter how much money how rich, many trauma are so painful to forget and affected until our adult life and love life... If not of the childhood and growing up process, it wont form into bpd. I've so many fail love relationship because of my parent very bad divorce. Life taught me one thing I've to be very strong and I never hope that my son to experience what I encounter in my entire life. The one that will never leave you is your own soul till the day you die. You're really more blessed then me by alot.. I only left with my son and im hanging onto my life because my son need me. Bpd people are always misunderstood by alot of peoples. Que sera, sera ❤

Both XX and KL come from borken families, they don't have the capacity to understand what loving family is to hold a marriage unfortunately. And they are both drama queens but will deny it, then they will ask why certain things happen to them.
