The 277.87 mph for the Agera RS was averaged in both directions. It went 284 mph with the tailwind and 271.5 mph against the wind for the 277.87 mph average.

@C b The Agera RS and the One:1 make 1360hp from that V8, and they are well faster than anything Bugatti has ever made. Even back when the Veyron came out it was barely faster than the CCX despite being more powerful, because it was so much heavier. Bugatti makes GT cars (albeit very fast ones), not all out harcore sports cars like Koenigsegg. The extra cylinders in a Bugatti aren't there for more power, they're there for a smoother, more refined driving experience. I mean Americans have been proving for 50 years that you don't need 16 cylinders to make an 8l engine, there's V8s bigger than that.

You do have a point there with Musk, considering that Tesla stans who are blinded by a car that, at a glance, drives ITSELF, don't actually realize the danger that comes with it. I mean, they even SLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL. Even an ordinary joe knows that a car has to have people in control. No matter how advanced automotive tech gets, people still need to supervise such tech, cuz a computer can't predict EVERYTHING on this damned earth.

Gearhead Daily Holy shit, I've figured it out, all this time we've tried to make tires that can withstand the abused of 300 mph. The answer has been in front of us this whole time, just look at how the water glistens off beautiful bald heads, so smooth, so little resistance. We need less resistance in tires, so why don't we just make them out of the heads of bald people? With low resistance like that, I think we can conservatively hit speeds of 800 mph.

HC DaVe well that’s what the koenisegg is a car built to be one mans vision of what a car should be as Jeromy Clarkson would say. And people that own these cars don’t have time to build there own so they buy another mans masterpiece which it is. Hardly nobody builds 100% of there cars anyways at some point your gonna need help. Personally I have a Engine guy, a transmission guy, a tuner, and a welder fabricator and the rest I do myself. Although my cars are one of a kind I still would have to say that I had to pay to get them built although I did the final build but with others built parts.

You forgot to bring up the CCGT. The Koenigsegg CCGT was a side project that was an attempt to make a GT1 class race car. The car was powered by a unique 5.0L NA V8 that was essentially an enlarged version of the CCX’s 4.7L engine without the superchargers. The engine made around 600hp. It’s also the only Koenigsegg with regular doors. Unfortunately the CCGT was a failure and didn’t get to race because last minute rule changes suddenly occurred (carbon fiber monocoques became illegal, and the minimum production number went from 20 road cars to 350 road cars)

Christian Koenigsegg is so ahead of every other exotic it's crazy. I'm not talking simply about performance numbers ala HP, TQ, top speed, quarter mile, etc.... Many of the greats can achieve great performance. Where Christian stands out above everyone else is his "technology". His gearboxes, transmissions, electric motors, and engines are so ahead of their time it's absolutely incredible. He's doing things no one has ever seen, much less thought about. He's an absolute GENIUS !!!! Go watch some of the videos on his technology and his patents. You'll be amazed !!!!

You should do a video on an old time entrepreneur who built cars for Indy. He raced cars, boats and planes. He was a Hollywood stunt pilot, he died on his 55th birthday in a plane crash of his own making (ie, his idea caused the crash). But the man was an engineering genius. Joel Wolfe Thorne Jr was a millionaire at 10 after his father died. He was the winning car own of the 1946 Indy 500. He had an amazing and sometimes odd life though. He was the first to use a radio in a race car! He always had something up his sleeve, even in WWII where his factories helped the war effort

Also, Koenigsegg first engine choice, was *ex-F1 Subaru Flat-12* (developed mainly by Moderni Motori). " (...) We went and met with them and they were very open. They said they could modify their 3.5 litre flat-12 engine for us. Similar engines had been used in offshore boat racing with twin turbos on them, so we were confident enough in their durability. They put together a 3.8 litre flat-12 and they lowered the RPM from 12000 to 9000. They put different camshafts on it, they stroked it, put in longer intake tracts. It was set up to get 580hp at 9000rpm and I have the dyno tests from where we ran that engine. When we first designed the Koengisegg monocoque, it was designed for that engine and it was the first engine we put in there. The engine mount positions for that engine are still used in the Agera today."
