@@lola-to9om Where I live the 3060ti is pretty close in pricing to the 3070. But between the 3060 and the 3060ti I would definitely get the 3060ti since it uses the same die as the rtx 3070, unlike the 3060. On the AMD side it's worth looking at the 6600xt since it offers great value at this time.

Hell, I was originally planning in *April* with my tax refund, but pandemic hit and I needed to sit home for a few months and use that money to pay rent until it was safe enough to get into a cab again. Then, by the time I was back driving and earning money, we had this fiasco with the CPU & GPU chip supply (plus every human being suddenly needing every 10xx and up card for a Work-From-Home rig) and there is LITERALLY NOTHING even used available that comes CLOSE to my six-year-old, worn out GTX 970 that I want to give a peaceful retirement to; maybe some nice ol' grandma who wants to zoom with her family every now and again.. NOTHING ANYWHERE on new or used that's newer than a GT 730. And AMD? Try *ATI* Radeon cards for sale! I have EVERYTHING else, case, cpu, cooler, mobo, ram, psu, storage all priced, available from multiple sources, new. But I'd have to drop my old clapped-out GTX 970 into it just to get it to display anything when it runs. nVidia, AMD, Intel, Samsung, Hynix, Micron, y'all need to get your heads together and figure out WHAT you're doing (which yall have probably already done) and then someone needs to BE EFFING HONEST and tell the PUBLIC how long we can expect the 'chip drought' to inflict supply and for retail customers to have to wait. ...and hopefully we're not under ANOTHER '4th wave' lockdown or anything when we can ACTUALLY expect to be able to by some stock.

@@mohammedhayyoun oh yeah, the 3060 crushes everything I need it for with ease. Mainly 1080p video editing and 1080p gaming. It renders video like 3-4 times faster than my old card. I haven't tried gaming above 1080p so can't say how it holds up there.

Then I decided to get a second hand RX 480 4gb. I got it last week and it died on me within an hour of me plugging it in a trying to figure out what was wrong. I was also considering building a prebuild and getting the gpu, but literally everything else is brand new (been slowly collecting my new PC part by part since last black friday).

It is a definite at this point.... I was on the que lists as soon as they went on sale and from 12 different cards never once got an update to buy....it will not surprise me if we find out the scalpers were working with Nvidia the whole time to make, legally 3-6 times MSRP per unit, And yeah I do not care if that sounds crazy, it is merited at this point.

It won’t. When I got in to PC gaming I got in the headspace where I needed to play Ultramax settings on all my games all the time and upgrade to the newest graphics. The truth is this card is more powerful or just about as powerful as a base PS five and quite a bit more powerful than an Xbox series S so you’re basically guaranteed to run quality games for the next 3 to 4 years. Probably quite a bit longer.

In my country, they started the sale 5mins before release time. And since its a store that has its main residence in neighboring country, all cards they had, were available there and none in ours. Also, most of them ended in used market immediately, with 200€ margin added to already skyrocketed release price here.

@Mannyxz I dont have tooooo many AAA games, actually. But I'll point out a few. RDR2 gets like 45fps on High to Ultra 1080p, turn it down to Medium to get about 65 to 90. GTA V gets like 120fps Ultra. The older AAA titles like AC Odyssey or Fallout 4 will run great on Ultra with 60fps+. I personally mainly play VRChat using Virtual Desktop on my Quest 2, but yep, it runs very well even in public lobbies. It's pretty much doesnt matter how many avatars there are, lol.

Yeah, prices are down to pretty reasonable now. I got it for Blender rendering. 12gb VRAM and RTX cores means the render times should be pretty incredible, especially compared to my 1060 that has to load half the scene onto RAM. Gonna be SO nice to be rendering the same things in half the time, if not less.

Ever since the second or third time this has happened, where a launch occurs and hardly anyone gets a card, I've been under the impression that this is what top people in the industry want to happen. The fact that all of the extra 20 series cards have sold because 30 series cards have been virtually non-existent is no coincidence. I have no reason to believe that something shady is going on behind the scenes. On top of all that, I've been on a queue list for a card from EVGA since some time in October and have yet to receive my notification for my purchase window. I check on their website every day, and I haven't missed my notification. Meanwhile, I've seen countless random in stock alerts for the card and a lot of other EVGA 30 series cards on Best Buy, Newegg, etc. I have absolutely zero faith in the GPU industry anymore. They keep this shit up and people are just gonna quit buying their bullshit.

I can't afford a high refresh rate monitor in my country, so I think my 1060 6gb will stay with me for a long time, it can keep 60hz on almost any game, especially since my monitor isn't full hd

@@user-jj4bv5yk5k That's because unlike the old cards, these cards have wasted resources on crap like streaming and raytracing as opposed to just being better at the heavy lifting of regular rendering. So unless the program is designed around the gimmicks, the newer cards under perform.

Gonna keep my 1080ti for multiple years yet. Once the market cools off in a couple years (wishful thinking?) I'll try to snag a cheap RX card.
