In her first conference speech as prime minister, Truss spoke against an 'anti-growth coalition', citing the Liberal Democrats, the Labour party and Extinction Rebellion among others.
Greenpeace protesters briefly interrupted Truss, holding up a sign that read 'Who voted for this?'. Greenpeace UK later said it had identified at least seven areas across environmental protection, climate action, workers’ rights and tackling inequality where policies considered by Truss’s cabinet contradicted the 2019 Conservative election manifesto.

If people voted for the Tories based on their 2019 manifesto, noone voted for her Fracking policy. It stated: We placed a moratorium on fracking in England with immediate effect. Having listened to local communities, we have ruled out changes to the planning system. We will not support fracking unless the science shows categorically that it can be done safely.

Each time taxes were cut in the USA, it did indeed lead to economic growth. Income tax rates under Trump for example were cut Result? The most income tax revenue in the history of Planet Earth. Econ 101....if tax rates are too high, economic growth is held back The goal is more tax revenue ....not setting tax rates to "punish the rich" or "make the rich pay their fair share" ...which in the USA, the rich already overpay The top 10% earn 48% of income, yet pay 71% of federal income taxes USA. How is this not "paying one's fair share", or fair overall? A smaller piece of a sufficiently bigger pie = more income tax revenue

It's always the same playbook, with _any_ politician... Appeal to the emotionality to distract the intellectuality. Unfortunately this renders all votes absolutely meaningless, because to run a country based entirely upon emotion is patently absurd for the simple reason that countries should be run and observable facts and phenomena, which do not change as randomly and as quickly as emotions famously do.

Cant grow properly without beefing up the lower classes, job opportunities, skills training, access to affordable housing and healthcare and foods. ( healthcare already being covered) Access to transportation public or personal. Once these types of basis’ are covered its not difficult to look and see the positive progress’ and with continued effort along these lines and like mindset other benefits would occur and become reality as well.

It's fantastic. We're going to make so much money from deregulation and tax cuts. I was hoping she'd keep the 45p tax cuts in place. I was going to use that break to by myself another property to rent out at an extortionate price. Mind you rigging elections is expensive but as people can see it's paying off big time.

A crazy thing happens, you stop being dependent on Russian energy sources and you become dependent on American energy sources, which are always interested in profit. If the majority of the population has to allocate 10 times more money for energy, then the general consumption will decrease, by reducing taxes, the budget is further reduced, and where can there be growth,growth and growth * gross ???? Only fools can believe in economic growth.
