Wage theft is triple the rate of all the regular theft combined, and politicians are in a prime position to take advantage of it all. Consider this: the rich are no longer beholden to any country, they have no duty to serve the people who's backs they strode upon, the ones who lifted them to unprecedented heights. Kings would be envious of their ability to burn their country and buy a new one in a night further away than any king had ever travelled. @@morbidmanmusic The point of this comment is to say that I respect him for not only learning from his past, but that he's always done his best to be a net positive force in society, especially as now he can say with certainty that the ends, of less kids following in his footsteps, justify the means of him speaking at schools and the like. He's not glorifying his life as a businessman whose business was crime, he's using it as a teaching tool. Unfortunately, you've decided, not only to run your mouth but get slightly political and in a manner that screams "I don't understand what Illinois is doing at the start of 2023 but the man on my TV says it's bad". Because of this, I am not responsible for how hurt your feelings get. First and foremost, even when he was living as a businessman, he had rules for himself and he followed them. We are all protagonists in our stories. Now with your comment on guessing who I want for president. I rather like the current administration, the previous one was so self centered, it's weird that people seemingly pray to him. He was so mad at when his followers did what he said to do. Illinois is eliminating cash bail for those *accused* of crimes up to 2nd degree homicide. As in they're still innocent, they haven't been proven guilty in a court of law. Families living paycheck to paycheck cannot afford bail, nor can they live without the paycheck of the accused. Maybe next time, do your own research, Tucker Carlson is not a reputable source, he's employed by a politically biased network.

Bobbys reply about talking to kids is exactly what I’ve been saying since I learnt about crime at school and having grown up in a town full of crime and violence. Educational services need to start teaching kids instead of telling them. Telling someone not to do drugs, not to kill someone, not to have sex until a certain age is going to make them want to do it more than teaching them the consequences since it’s natural for humans to rebel. If schools start teaching kids of what they can expect after doing these things in a non biast manner, the kids will feel less like they’re being told and therefore would feel less likely to rebel

@ewfq2
@ewfq2 Рік тому
I think you might be misattributing the charisma here. Yes he exudes charisma, but you have to ask yourself whether you should attribute that charisma to Bobby the gangster, or Bobby the reformed gangster-turned-educator? The confidence, self-awareness, and mental sharpness is something that is not because of his criminal past, but despite it. I personally feel his charisma is more than anything because he was able to overcome his previous life - and the attitude, outlook, and values that cmae with it - to transform himself. In general, you'll notice that there is that special kind of charisma of people who have shown to be able to transform themselves. And I think that is what you should connect to the charisma; the ability, will, and power to transform oneself. I hope the movie they're making about him will be able to make that difference clear. Even the glamour in crime is fundamentally about autonomy/power, often first purely over others and for one's own sake where then th question remains if they realize true power is over oneself and for the sake of others. I can't imagine how radical that transformation of life and being was for him. To do so and retain so much vibrant charisma means he really owned his past, which takes a great deal of strength, insight, and will. I don't know how to say it, but I hope that helps in reframing this issue of glamour.

We may not agree with the job, but from what I’ve learned is that if you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you (usually- there are those gangs that target random people sadly). The "cut of your jib" expression comes from sailing...The Jib is the small triangular sail at the front of a sailing yacht,and "having a good cut" of it means having the sail wound in tightly or let out loosely with the ropes (aka "sheets",which is where the expression "four sheets to the wind" meaning drunk,comes from)on the winches to get the best wind from it. to make the boat go faster.

Noone should ever loose their child, it's not the right order of things, this man's trying to change that. Much respect to the man 👍

No one can change it, resurrection doesn't exist. He's just trying to assuage his guilty conscience as the grave looms.

This is the type of person that needs to be involved with our vulnerable youth. Glad to see him doing some good with his experiences. This is why we need to listen to our "elders" we should let the elders of our society be more involved with our youth. A man with a bad start can end with a great end. Jane in New Zealand.

I worked in London in around 1988/89 and lodged in a pub in Southwark called the Crown, landlord was a 'gangster' and a lot of the lads that went in there were too. Honestly lovely people, had some good drinks with them and never had a single bit of bother. Gentleman, is a good word for them. For sure they will have done bad things no doubt about it, but like Bobby says it was business to them, and if you were right with them, they were right with you. Not glorifying anything, just saying what my experience of this man's world was. Lodged there about a year or so, and like I say no bother whatsoever.
