After losing his job and his wife (again), Josh Swain is one down and out dude. Maybe the case of who busted up the local fast food joint's bathroom can give him the redemption he needs. Or maybe it'll be his last.
Shot in its entirety during the 2021 Oscars with no plan whatsoever.

This is a masterpiece in so many ways. I'm really impressed. This is groundbreaking. There is nothing ironic about what I'm saying. This is the pinnacle of metacinema in 2021. This is the evolution of Cinema Vérité. If the scholars of the future know anything at all, people will be writing essays about your work, I am not kidding at all. There has been nothing actually fresh about cinema in the last few decades, new or old. It's all basically the same few things in different genres repackaged and enhanced by modern technology for an increasingly stale industry. People think this is just you fooling around, and in a certain way, it is, because it just comes naturally from you, but it's so fresh. This is the kinda stuff I used to do with my brothers when we were younger, and it was so fun, and we just lost that along the way, needlessly complexifying to accomodate a stale industry. This is real. It's the most unique cinema movement of the last few decades, and it is not yet being recognized as such. You're a pioneer, Joel Haver. Thank you for what you are doing in advancing the medium and thank you for making us laugh.

The mildly disappointing thing in this edited final version is that during the livestream, Trent accidentally gave the bodyguard three reasons, making the bodyguard go on a spiel about how he's an overachiever and deserves to be let in cause of it. Was hoping they'd leave that bit in.

I watched the livestream. This was three hours and thirty-five minutes of pure, unadulterated improv, and it couldn't have been more perfect.

Can this be a monthly thing? This is both an amazing way to interact with the community and to make amazing content.

If it's possible for UKposts videos and livestreams to win awards, then this certainly deserves at least three.
