It is amazing! And This game, Mario vs Donkey Kong is basically a sequel to that Gameboy Donkey Kong. Two of the most underrated Mario games ever. Sadly the series fell off after this one though.

@@pracalt1051 Oh, for sure they got old original audio clips in high quality. Developers don't just lose the source material, they have no reason to throw it away after converting it to lower quality. Specially Nintendo, which always has the potential to profit a lot from remakes

Nope youre not alone! This was my childhood man, one of the coolest take on Mario's moveset, its so much fun maneuvering in this game and solving platforming puzzles.

I loved this game too.

ive never played a mario vs donkey kong game but this definitely looks more appealing to me than any of the mini mario games

The GBA game was the only Mario vs DK that I played. The others didn't interest me due to the Mini Mario mechanics. Excited to play the remake.

I agree. I never liked the DS versions where you played as the Minis. I hope they add the original Gameboy version of Mario vs Donkey Kong as well *(no minis in that version, it's similar to the 1981 version of Donkey Kong where you save Pauline).*

@@ramc157 toys built to promote Mario, but donkey Kong stole them (and Pauline) and Mario have to save the minis from Donkey Kong(with Pauline if she's so important)

@@ramc157 The basic plot of this game is "Mario has a factory producing little wind-up Mini Mario merchandise, Donkey Kong breaks into the factory and steals a sack full of Minis, Mario chases after him to retrieve the Minis". The game got half a dozen sequels which were Lemmings-like puzzle games in which a handful of Mini Marios walk around a stage by themselves and you navigate them towards the exit. Not quite as fun as the original formula, especially not after multiple identical sequels.

Mario is king but it was originally called donkey Kong back in the day so I'd say it was a donkey Kong game

In hindsight, a shame we couldn't get some of these for the anniversary but I guess covid ruined those plans

yep, well this year announced a lot of Mario/Mario-related games are coming this year and next year we have Super Mario RPG and super Mario Bros Wonder this year! we have Mario vs. donkey kong, princess peach showtime, and Luigi's mansion 2 HD next year!

Having been raised on Donkey Kong 94, I love that its being brought back into the modern era. The only thing is the stakes aren't as high. Pauline isn't kidnapped and DK doesn't seem like he's try to kill you. I get its a kids game but so was DK 94. Idk, I guess I'm just getting old.

Yeah, and people who complain that there are too many MvD games don't seem to realize THERE WAS (basically) ONLY ONE! Its essentially a sequel to the much earlier DK94, but other than that... all the other MvD branded games are just lemmings style games. So hate those if you must, but this (and probably even moreso DK94) is a great puzzle platformer. Correct me if I'm wrong on about this being the only true sequel to DK94, and the rest being just about guiding the Minis, lemmings style... also a fun idea... I keep forgetting I have one of those for DS. Just checked, its Mini-land Mayhem. Looking forward to playing that one one of these days... and if (when) I get Mario Vs. Donkey Kong I should be pretty set on for that series... I'd take a DK94 remake though... the game they SHOULD have remade, heh.
