@B DAWG No, games nowadays are masterpieces. Never ever could I imagine even in my dreams, that someday there will be videogames like Red Dead 2 or GTA5. The thing is, and this REALLY sucks, we are too old to enjoy videogames as we used to do back then. As young kids, we had way more fantasy in our heads, videogames had such an impact on our brain. What would I give to experience todays modern games as 8 year old kid, god damn kids nowadays are so lucky!

It's true I can tell the textures were very good for the time, and many of the animations. The music luckily, will ALWAYS be amazing to listen to from all of these games haha.

I think the graphics look amazing for a ps1 game. When I talk about how good the graphics are for a game I always think about the context and when it was released/for what system. It's definitely playable now but maybe thats because I love retro gaming and I like old graphics. :) the fog of war this game has isn't that bad either. I had a bunch of ps1 games were you can't see whats infront of you.

This game looks like jittery movement between grungy old walls all game. I get sick watching the jittery movement.

I was in second year college when this came out and I really loved playing. Sound design was well done and the fact Dale Dye helped in the production increased the realism.

Robbie Desiato I was about 19 when this came out as well but used to smoke tons of weed playing this game. The music made it so intense.

Robbie Desiato online multiplayer was a thing since 1996 on PC dude. It's just that *popular* online on consoles was a mad mans dream, so they had to make a damned good single player experience, plus good split screen action when suitable. For PC since super fast online was a mad mans dream, they had to perfectly tweak netcode to work like a charm, and put effort into LAN parties working 100%

Back then the consoles were also mainly for playing games without tons of BS around...since it wasn't connectable to internet. Nowadays that you open PS4/PS5 main screen tons of ads and ballast unrelated to games pops up. I think the combination of that plus the physical discs and also no toxic surroundings of social media and smartphones is what made that era so magical. I still remember playing very first Silent Hill on PS1 being 13 yrs old back then 😢 miss those times so much. Also Medievil, Fade to Black, Fifa 98, Army Men World at War (or something like that, green toy soldiers), Legend of Dragoon, Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu.....and tons other games.
