Rise got me interested in the series, then when I saw the trailers for this I went back and played the first one on 3DS. So I have bought 3 MH games within a year of being introduced to the series. 😅

@UCkVaClthPekHWLmOPyflhdg You know those tv series that go on for 6+ seasons and every episode is basically the same thing, but that's what makes it so easy to sit down and watch because you know what to expect. MH is basically the video game version of that. They are hundreds of hours long, and reuse a lot of the same content, but the core gameplay loop is so satisfying that it takes a long time for them to get old.

@@mitwhitgaming7722 I know, right? I mean, the second season of the Ride On anime went a bit into it, and I certainly wouldn't mind if he still had Cryo as his Palico like he does there, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to carry over to the game.

My theory is that Cheval is the mystery guy with the Nergigante armor.

Yeah probably the game that saved nintendo. I mean botw2 footage did wonders but 2021 releases this one and skyward sword and mario party all stars were all they had.

I'm not sure about that yet because of Metroid Dread. I would put it in the top 3. I already played rise and just started stories 2 so my list might change after I finish the last two games on the list. 1. Metroid Dread 2. Monster hunter rise 3. Monster hunter stories 2

@@Spectral_Thief10 I played the demo of both monster hunters and from both demos stories is far better. Tbh though metroid dread didn't have much appeal to me.

@@mitwhitgaming7722 my first Metroidvania was Samus returns. After that I played Ori and the will of the wisps and then hollow knight and finally super metroid. I was also one of the very few people who actually played federation force. I enjoyed it and I still don't know why it sold so badly except for the fact that people wanted a new mainline game instead of a spinoff. Anyways, Hollow Knight was my favorite out of the 3 and is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. I am hyped for Metroid Dread and cannot wait to play it. I already pre ordered Metroid Dread. Doing my part to support the series

This isn't actually a Monster Hunter game... It's just an RPG based on the monsters and some armors from real Monster Hunter games. But actually it is really good.

@@misspikapika7972 Yeah, I doubt Arceus would even come close. Sure the art style might head into a similar style, but monster animation or even gameplay wise, I don't think so. Sword and Shield had a chance to improve things, but didn't. Arceus would be a repeat of Sword and Shield for most part.

I disagree, Sword & Shield are awesome games and i'm excited for the remakes and Legends Arceus. I don't want Pokémon to be like Monster Hunter Stories, i want them both to stay their own thing cause i love Pokémon as it is. Sword & Shield improved a lot in my opinion, they have been doing lots of things better than gens ago

On the 2019 Switch you have most of the time 40 to 60 fps. There aren't drops below 30. That's actually a difference, but on the 2017 Switch it runs fine.😊 I know these comparison details, because I tested it on my own.

@@orellamann9163 Nice and thanks for the extra info, i honestly never notice big drops while playing any game. I only experience delays of a few seconds when going online in a game, don't know if that counts as a drop but anyway i think that saying Monster Hunter Stories 2 dropping to 10 is a bit exaggerated if anything but that's just my own thinking :)

I played the demo for Rise isn't a good reflection on the whole game because it just gives you a few missions to play with armor sets you didn't forge yourself. Whereas the demo for Stories straight up gives you the first chapter of the game.

Honestly, this series is everything Sword and Shield should have been and then some.

Kinna both. Different chapters of the story will pair you up with other characters and their monsters, but then you also raise your own monsters Pokemon style. You can play the entire first chapter in the demo if you are interested in giving it a try. The combat system is more simple than Pokemon's, but also has a lot more layers to it.

If you are looking for something to ease you back into the series, I would recommend Rise. But if you are looking for a true challenge, Generations Ultimate is your best bet.

Woaaa.. MH3U actually my fave and I start learning about MH game with MH3U.. You need to gearing up your weapon coz you just missed MH4U, MHGU and Rise for old style MH.

So Rise is a part of the main series where you go on epic hunts and take down giant monsters boss battle style. Stories is a Pokemon-style spin off series, designed to be more approachable to newcomers than the mainline series, while still offering a lot for MH fans.
