@@eduartxc I would. The first game was definitely designed to get kids into Monster Hunter, but still had compelling enough themes to get me invested in the story. I imagine this game will be more of the same, if not better.

Last I remember. In the first game, at the end. Cheval declared he was leaving once more to start a journey with Rathi alone. So there's a slight chance he may not be. But you never know. I sure hope he will!

@@crimsongold6980 considering that Avinia and Lilia are returning, it'd be a tragedy if Cheval didn't return, I'd just love to witness him completely silence Kyle's idea that Razewing Ratha can't be trusted, he'd be like "I once thought the same thing about a certain Rathalos, thought it'd turn rabid and start killing people, so I wanted to put it down! That same Rathalos ended up saving the world from a disaster that I inadvertantly caused!"

Normally I would say it would be hard to adapt a 3DS game to use a single screen, but they already did it for the Android version.

@@mitwhitgaming7722 wasn't it originally an android game that got ported to 3ds. I played it on android before remembering its 3ds announcement. But I had to download the jp versions since it was out early

Now I desperately need Cheval as a young but experienced rider. His hot temper now cooled to a dark but reserved edge. Would bring a nice balance to the other characters personality wise. Not to mention Rathi.

@@RED_KING_86 TBH, I liked the Numbers- especially 2- but I feel like they were some of the weaker characters from the first game. A cameo would be nice, though.

it comes a week after my birthday, I am considering pre-ordering the game so that I can avoid all spoilers!

One of my only complaints about the first game was the dozens of loading screens that made the game hard to play for long periods. On the the Switch that should be less of a concern.

The first game had a really long demo that transferred save data to the main game. I imagine this one will too. With the first one, I was on the fence until playing the demo. Now its one of my favorite games on the 3DS.

As long as someone is enjoying monster hunter in some form, I’m happy.

I really wish more franchises dipped into multiple genres like this. Its a great way to expand the fanbase beyond players who like a specific kind of game.

Same! I only love Monster Hunter Stories (3DS) and couldn't care less for the "traditional" Monster Hunter games *(Monster Rider* forever!).

Both I already purchased the other now I'm gonna buy this too.

Depends if you want an intense boss rush game or a slower paced, story-based game.

I'd say get this and wait a bit for more updates to drop for Rise or maybe even until next year for the PC version. Rise is great but it could use some more content, mainly a real endgame as opposed to just grinding for charms, imo.

I actually really hope we get a rep from Rise, or any of the mainline Monster Hunter games. Rise is a Switch timed exclusive, and Rathalos is already a boss in Smash.

Some of us are screaming in joy, but the majority of people in livechat (most likely new fans that started with either MH World or Rise) always seem to discriminates this game. I don't get why they hate this game so much I mean their game got an update as well, why would you bash other people games? You can have your own opinion which is better but don't go to other people games and went "tHiS gAmE iS tRaSh" or "NoBoDy wAnTs ThIs". I never seen such toxicity in the fandom since I first play MHFU on the PSP era. For me, MH fandoms are slowly becoming the next Megami Tensei fandom where the Main series and the Spin off series always seem be arguing.

They did. You can upgrade the genes AND you can actually select which slot the genes will be in, making the usage of the Rite of Channeling much easier.

Funny how Stories 1 didn't sell so well, yet they are trying again and adding even more stuff (like co-op) into this one while Pokemon is successful yet seems to be removing key features that people like in future installments.
