Most often, we make things and various alterations for women, while men are left deprived. They do their men's work - repairs in the garage, work in the garden, in the workshop, which requires special clothing or accessories for tools.
If we want their work to move faster, we need to help with this. Often our craftsmen need several tools at once: a screwdriver, pliers, a hammer, a tape measure, pencils and other unknown devices. All this is needed now and immediately and should be at hand.
That's why they need an apron without even knowing it. Did you think that only women wear aprons?
For an apron you need a thick, strong fabric like tarpaulin, which you won’t find. But you can replace it - jeans, suitable fabric. Jeans alone are enough to sew a good-sized apron.
1) First you need to rip the jeans or cut them at the seams.
2) I trimmed the pieces and sewed them together, overcast the seams, ironed them and put finishing stitches on the front side.
3) From the finished fabric I cut out an apron, the length of which is 77 cm and the width is 70 cm.
4) I overcast all the edges, pressed them to the wrong side by 1 cm and stitched.
5) Now the creative process, you need to make a lot of pockets so that everything you need can fit there.
6) I cut pockets out of the back of the jeans, taking in more fabric around them.
7) I stitched them into the bib of the apron. The result was 4 pockets.
8) There will be 3 large compartments in the center that will accommodate large tools, such as a hammer. I used camouflage fabric from a skirt.
9) At the bottom on the sides I sewed 2 more narrow pockets.
All pockets can be positioned differently - at your discretion.
10) There is a special ribbon for the straps, which was not available, so I sewed them from fabric.
11) For the neck I have a sewn strap that can be made with ties.
My husband appreciated the update and was inspired to work after the holidays. Here he is in all his glory, a supermodel.
