Shooting 10 times at unarmed people was an act of hate. When you go shopping in places where there are lots of people, you may get bumped or pushed down. That's no reason to pull out a gun and start shooting.

For a multi million dollar company they sure have a potato camera system in this store . Had the situation been reversed this family would already be in jail looking at 25 to life .

I definitely feel the officer was wrong!! Even if the young man had pushed or hit him, that is not reason to shoot one shot much less several. In a fairly busy store, endangering the lives of others. Also I'm pretty sure if it has been a regular citizen, not associated with law enforcement, they would have been arrested immediately. Not allowed to go home. I can see why the family finds our justice system flawed, I feel the same way!! Issues are seen every day with our so called justice system!! 😢😢

They just acquitted the guy who shot the UKposts prankster. The sons actions arnt even remotely explained or rationalized.

And the officer wasn’t even on duty. He was shopping and could have shot his own child. I believe he should lose his badge. Kenneth was a young boy in a man’s body who just didn’t know what personal space was.

This person that got knocked down and dropped his baby, should have been so busy making sure his baby was alright and caring for him, that he would never have had the time or inclunation to pull out a weapon and shoot three people ! But he doesn't even mention his baby son. He's a real piece of work, he is !

Here is my 2cents.... I think that there is a reaonable expectation that law enforcement are trained for surprise situations and to assess threats. With that they are expected to be able to "read" a situation better than civilians. Because they carry armed weapons they train constantly on who is the actual threat and where its coming from. That is there job, to safely remove threats without harming innocents! If every time an officer was confronted they pulled their weapon and fired, well a lot of people would get shot.

Unfortunately, the assumption that police are constantly trained for surprise situations and to assess threats is not realistic. Police are no different than anyone else, and in stressful situations, they revert to old habits. Police don't constantly do scenario-based training on threat or no threat situations. You are required to qualify with your sidearm yearly and do yearly CE training, which can be online, and that's it. In order to do that type of training, it costs money and resources. Someone has to cover their shift, and anything police-related is not cheap. Then you have to find somewhere that is putting on the class nearby, and sometimes it's available only once a year and may not even be close to their state. You get scenario-based training in the academy, and if you're lucky, you can get extra training if staffing and budget permit.

I believe that the officer reacted with too much force, but the family responsible for the man with mental problems should have made sure to watch him all the time. What about the injury to the child?

Yes Imagine having an adult son who had schizophrenia but wasn't taking his medicine, and not keeping an eye on him.

Yeah I agree, although, anything can happen in the span pf seconds, since we weren't there we can't say for sure how exactly it happened but the officer should be in jail, all of that didn't justify shooting at the guy nor the family at all, they didn't have any weapons and they all were in a crowded Cotsco, full of people, it baffles me that he's not in jail. Not only that, he lied about Kenneth having a gun, clearly shows that the guy knew what he did and tried to justify using his gun.

Welcome to my life. In a discussion on nerve pain, I used the word 'fire' so I guess that's why the description of sciatica vanished. 🙄

Watching a True Crime documentary a few days ago, I was once again astounded by yt's censorship "rules!" Why block the word "r@pe", yet allow "sodomy" to be clearly heard!?? FFS, these words basically mean the same!! I think yt is simply going bonkers, hey!! 😮😊😅

My heart goes out to the French family as they grapple with the senseless and devastating loss of their son-a tragedy made all the more unbearable by the glaring lack of accountability in a system where the police often seem to operate above the law. This injustice cuts deep, serving as a stark reminder of the systemic flaws within law enforcement and the broader societal inequities that persist. This incident underscores the undeniable trend exemplified by an improperly trained and inadequately vetted police force, indicative of a nation in decline. It's reminiscent of the slow unraveling witnessed in the decline of empires like Rome-a gradual erosion of the very foundations of governance and social order, marked by systemic failures and neglect. Without considering how stupid the US looks globally on political and diplomatic levels, a closer look at the economic landscape reveals a stark reality: the United States is falling behind in crucial sectors. The decline in manufacturing, with its outsourcing of production and subsequent job losses, stands out as a glaring example. It’s absurd to scapegoat other countries like China for this, as it's clear that we've allowed corporate interests to hijack our government and manufacture the narrative used to distract from the truth. In addition to the decline in manufacturing, the sluggish progress in renewable energy adoption, deficiencies in education and healthcare systems, and dilapidated infrastructure, the United States is also falling behind in key areas of technology and innovation such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and 5G infrastructure. These challenges underscore systemic issues that impede long-term economic prosperity and competitiveness, and really, there’s no stopping this train at this point. Not aiming for a "Sir, this is a Wendy’s" moment, but it's important to heed these warning signs as we brace ourselves for the uncertain times ahead. Not saying it’s the apocalypse or anything, but we will be seeing more of these tragedies, and ignoring these indicators would be nothing short of foolish. Or continue drinking the American Exceptionalism Kool-Aid…up to you 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, the parents KNEW that their son was mentally ill & SHOULD NOT be in public around lots of people. They put their son in that situation!!! ...NO, the policeman shouldn't have shot him, BUT he was holding his BABY when he gets attacked by their son!!! People snap when having to protect their kids!! ...for those with family members that have mental illness that makes them a danger around others, KEEP THEM AT HOME WHERE THEY ARE SAFE!!!

I have a massive respect towards Police especially American officers. (I dunno) I just feel so disappointed in the situation. I can understand why someone may feel threatened. But it’s overkill. I can certainly understand the victims families feelings. It’s a huge loss for them. In a way you would never expect to. Sad all over. Prayers for the family 💔

I don't believe that I don't believe that the officer fired for no reason. I don't believe that that foreign family is innocent as they appear to be. A, why would officer holding his son shoot for no reason? Also, why would the dumb dude? Attack an officer while holding his son-in a store. And a family friendly, so they can sit there. And play the victim roll but I ain't falling for it😊

@@miltonedwin8237 plus they are trained to. It’s a shame all around. Losing a son is a huge deal. But he was holding his son. So they both were protecting the same thing.
