The horrifying level of the situation was such that Coco shot Neku again just to force him back into the Reaper's Game again, and revived Minamimoto as a Taboo Noise to be Neku's new partner. So this new game will either be a Prequel offering some explanation behind that, OR, be a sequel that will reveal how Neku plays a role in undoing that. Either way, I guess I am expecting a lot out of Tsugumi.

i got some disappoint on something showing on the trailer tho. The enviroment is kinda low quality, cutscene seme didnt got well on letting the character on some border and seperated with the background (while Old game let people feel the connection on character and the background itself), Fully charater dub would destroy the old experience while listen to music and reading too!

It's why Japan-oriented characters like Hero and Byleth weren't received well in the West, and why lesser known characters like Neku won't make it. Of course I'd love him to get in, but it's just too risky for Nintendo.

the original was on DS and arguable the best to co-op with BUT there is the switch port that is really good still. I highly recommend you play it or at least watch a play through of it.

If you don’t have a DS but do have a Switch then the Final Remix, which is a Switch port of the iOS port of the DS original, is a must buy. The main characters appear in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, which includes remixes of several tracks from The World Ends With You game.

Sort of nice how they disguised scenes and elements within the trailers to make context minimal for a lot of bits. Also clever use of cutscene animation in the Opening to illude to scenes in the game itself.

The Switch Port is actually a port of the mobile game. I highly recc the original DS version if you can get it.

At this point I would be happy with a proper remake of the original trilogy, or at the very least a remaster with all three games. If for no other reason than to give the series more exposure and hopefully prove once and for all there is interest in a new game.
