Thank you, brother. i've checked and rechecked what Chomsky has said and written for decades, at least what i can get a hold of, and, as implausible as it sounds, he has never been wrong. ... He's a prime example, for all of us, of how to deal with problems. He simply doesn't allow emotions to interfere with rational thought. He works from the information he has available. And he gets that information from the fact that he reads everything! Plus the fact he has a remarkable memory.

This deification of Chomsky is ridiculous . And I'm a big Chomsky fan but his positions on certain issues aren't radical,i.e vote Biden ; lesser evilism etc .

Depends on the topic really, Chomsky’s overall knowledge is quite phenomenal but if there’s certain topics that he writes about and talks about he will often mention who the best folks are to read up on and who is the most knowledgeable on said topic! Some Other greats are Chris hedges he does a weekly program called on contact there’s some good episodes , chalmers Johnson did some great work definitely worth reading his books and listening to interviews that are available on UKposts! William Blum is great not a whole lot on UKposts but his books are awesome ! Vijay prashad is another guy that does some great work released a book last year called me Washington bullets and yeh there’s heaps of people out there that have done great work , I’d suggest stopping the video and writing names down when you hear Chomsky refer to someone’s research or book and follow up on it

Its not lessons learnt its the American ruling class power system and how it works. Afghanistan was profitable , it cost 2 trillion dollars from which many companies and individuals got paydays, that's the point, no lesson that they want to learn except " where's the next war and next fortune to be made". The only failure from the military part of the ruling class is that Afghanistan made a mockery of counter insurgency and and could not be pacified or subdued and play its part as a base for American empire. There is no over riding moral political philosophical ideal at play except as the lie knowingly used to fool and create consent in the American public for war and empire building.

Main lesson: certain people /businesses make a LOT of money when we make war somewhere else.

I think the point needs to be made that "cost" 2 trillion dollars means the American people put up $2Tr which then goes straight to corporations, apart from military wages, which in turn means that $2Tr worth of the labour of the American people (minus military wages) has been forcibly handed over to corporations, which, again, in turn means that the American people have been enslaved, to the tune of $2Tr, by corporations. This is the real meaning of the Orwellian concept of 'permanent war'.
