Errrrr, no he didn’t play at his best. He made plenty of mistakes and missed many easy shots. I’m not taking away from Novak, he deserved it but Nadal committed a lot of mistakes and missed many easy shots, if you watched the match. But he wouldn’t make any excuses, he gave Novak credit anyway. When Nadal is at his best, he would beat Djoko any day. Just look at their previous match on Clay this season and last year’s final...

That’s very good point. Scheduling and gruelling 5 setters beat Novak last year and it was the same in 2019 against Thiem. Nadal always gets to play first and Paris starts the later semis stupidly late in the evening.

Naomi's point wasn't that the press conferences were ridiculous. She was claiming that they were harmful to player's mental health. But no other tennis player really agreed with her, and the real issue is just that she herself was dealing with mental health issues. A press conference isn't going to make your mental health worse, she just couldn't deal with them because of her struggles that were already in motion. She needed to just not play a grand slam if she was dealing with mental issues. She needs to probably get some professional assistance. I'm not even sure if she has a personal sports psychologist, and she should hire one if she doesn't. She needs to resolve it herself, with her support people and friends and family.
