Nail on the head, tennis is now just swinging out of your shoes with top spin until someone falters. Even when someone throws in a change up, with side or back spin the strings and racquets allow the person to still swing out of their shoe and spin it in anyway. Spin Blasting is not tennis when 70% of the game is missing. Play the final with 80 sq inch and you see some crazy variety.or you could leave it and see to people play the drums for three hours.

Drugall and more rest make him invincible. DJokovic will be too tired of those 2 previous matches. He should have lost to Tsisipas or SOnego, to avoid to play in disadvantage vs Nadal. Nadal i previous years, when he notied Djokovic was playng well, used lo lose unexplainable in the mach before facing Djokovic I noticed that at least 5 or 6 times, that was good strategy to avoid worse statistics in H2H. By 28-29 Sampras had practically stopped training due to bored of tennis, at 26 Borg retired, Murray syoppd at 29 bwfore injury, at 26 Sondwrling stopped etc. Maybe he is late bloomer it can happen, as Wawrinka eho started becoming great at 28 and played his best between 29-33 actually up to his serious injury. @@nikolaramic From my perspective as an amateur player (armchair expert :P) it feels like Nadal mostly knows exactly when to go to the net and what volley to hit. His insane forehand allows him to approach with a shot as heavy as a bowlingball shot from a cannon. Fededer seems more to me like a somewhat "riskier" net approacher, so he will even approach the net on an approach shot that isn't 100% perfect, because he's really good at handling the tougher volleys (eg half-volleys), but at the cost of a potential lower net point success percentage. So that being said, both have very good touch on their volleys and an efficient calculated net game. Imo the difference is that Nadal wants a bit more consistency in how he finishes points at the net, so his finishes at the net are very often the same shot (short angle to the open court). Federer seems to have higher peaks and lower valleys with his net game and is flashier, but still very methodical and against most players his forehand approach still does plenty of damage. I could still be wrong, maybe Nadal has actually better touch at the net than Federer, but this is just what it seems like to me.

Djokovic owns the AO, Rafa owns the FO, Federer was the best on grass and I’d say all 3 are pretty tight on the US Open claim and Feder and Djokovic are incredible indoors. Only Rafa has won Olympic gold which is huge and he beat Djokovic in the semis on a hard court to do it. You can make a case for all 3, but maybe we won’t ever have just 1 goat! The thing is their time is so limited. Gotta enjoy these moments while we still can!

Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Sampras, Wilander, Lendl, Rosewall, Laver, Newcombe, Emerson etc were all among the GOATs in their day. Knowledge and technological advancements in terms of equipment, training, tactics, diet etc means players are able to prolong their careers to achieve greater success. Even though I don’t like Sonego because of his grunting he did a very good run in Rome and I can’t wait to see him in the future.

Epic match, Djocko will need some rest. I personally think they should have played the semifinals on Sunday and the final on Monday. It would have been the fair thing to do. And build a freaking roof for next time!

The same thing happened for Thiem in 2019 FO. There was poor scheduling + a rain delay that caused Thiem to play 3 consecutive days and not be fully recovered. On the other side, was a well rested Nadal that had a couple extra days of rest. Djokovic vs Nadal 2019 Rome was a similar situation with a tough draw for Nole and he was exhausted, while Nadal was well rested. Tennis can be a pretty cruel game in that regard.

For the very first time in ATP 1000 series, 23 years old American Opelika beaten 4 top players into this ATP 1000 semi finals 👏 however, 34 years old Nadal just too good.

Djokovic is technically and mentally the Best player of the modern era.

Nadal is indisputably better in everyway than everyone on clay, including Djokovic. So, no Djokovic is not technically and mentally the best player, he is one of the best players, along with Federer and Nadal.

wow, great battle for Nole but a 3-setter will give the King of clay advantage for the final after only one night rest. But the will to win from Nole will close up the gape of the two finalists. going to be a great match. Hope my Nole come on top

Rafa’s return position was almost shoulder-to-shoulder with the line umpires! Opelka’s serve is insane! Probably best in the world right now
