The older ones feel like a battle, a fight between two teams, with much glorious sounding instruments. The newer one feels like a sport, with more electronic type sounds. Best compared in MVP Anthems.

If you didn't realize that Panorama update changed the soundtrack, it's mostly because Panorama only removed the alternative soundtrack, so it plays the exact same tracks everytime an event happens. They probably did this to avoid creating multiple tracks for the same event for newer Music Kits (as Kits newer than the Panorama Update have one variants only).

Damn, that CS:GO Pre Panorama OST gives me major nostalgia. I didn't even know they got rid of some tracks post Panorama since I turned off the OST a while ago.

A matter of tastes, the CS2 music kit is like they are introducing you into a kind of a sports tournament where only the best of the best will win, and the big crowd just cheering their team adding to the majesticness and greatness of the event. CSGO kits in the other hand are like if they're introducing you to a story where something is going really wrong and you need to hurry the fuck up to solve it, you can't avoid it, you have to face it. Or at least that's how i intreprete them two

Pre Panorama soundtracks were perfect fit for CSGO. They were getting me hyped instantly. After they changed it to Panorama Update, CSGO wasn't the same anymore so I started to buy music kits. Honestly best memories of CSGO are from 2012-2016

actually first CS2 Limited beta the kit played both version as it used to be in pre-2018 but then Valve disabled it lol.

CS 2 music isn't worse, it's just different. And despite the fact that I absolutely love CS:GO music and don't really like the new one, I think that this new music fits CS 2 look better.

I did use a music kit for so long, that I didnt even knew they replaced the entire music with the Panorama Update. The first kit I have ever used was "Sail" which I bought in 2015 or 2016 and I think right before the Panorama update came I switched to "Lifes not out to get you" so I didnt play without a kit anymore. In the 2018 or 2019 I started to play with a second account because of friends and for me the music from the panorama felt so normal. I have used a kit for so long, that I forgot the old music. Crazy to me that I ONLY remember the old MVP sound, I really forgot about all other sounds. Im also not sure when I started to turn off all music besides the MVP so Im not sure how long I have heard the music in general.

As someone who first played CSGO in around 2013-2014 and absolutely loves the original soundtracks, I still think the CS2 soundtrack is undoubtedly pretty awesome too

There are so many great things about og and panorama soudtracks that made me have a nostalgia about all good moments. But now I think the best soundtrack for cs2 is "shooters". Under that graphics and modernization, it just fits.

I analysed the soundtracks from my point of view and I want to share with you guys what conclusions i have. 2012's Cs-go had a serious soundtrack, it gets you into the professional you are (whether you're a terrorist or an anti-terrorist), the operation must be meticulously planned and all your senses must be alert to any danger that puts the objective of the mission at risk. Cs-go 2018 is *almost* the same, the difference is that a certain tone of fear is added. Fear either because of the danger that comes with the mission, fear of losing one's life or failure. Personally, this soundtrack would go very well in a movie, it generates tension and uncertainty. Certainly the best soundtrack for the game by far. The soundtrack of Cs 2 stripped away the seriousness and fear, replacing it with a feeling of competitiveness and something I would classify as "cool". It feels more like you're the hero, the soundtrack is more like YOUR soundtrack, it makes you feel like the protagonist.

I haven't seen anyone mention the fact that the tracks used to be divided between hostage rescue and bomb defusal (probably because no one plays hostage rescue). The "pre-panorama" tracks played in hostage rescue and the "panorama" tracks played in bomb defuse. After the panorama update, the original bomb defuse tracks played in both game modes.

As a player from 2015, I can confirm that half of the original soundtrack has been removed. The old CSGO has full music kit, upon panorama update in 2018 they removed half of them or even more. For instance the bomb planted music you hear in post panorama is actually the bomb theme for CT side in pre panorama. The bomb theme pre panorama here is for T side, name "Defending the bombsite".
