The art design doesn’t scream OW, idk. Maybe it’s the color pallete they chose, Mauga, Illari and Lifeweaver look more futuristic than Venture.

Am I the only one who thinks the digging doesnt feel any special. Like, its supposed to be this new dimension for mobility but really its just a glorified reaper wraith form. They could have at least made it that you can go through walls with it or maybe even through floor levels.

I think their main weapon is more like a sigma projectile just without the bounce and a shorter range. Small explosive shot that explodes on impact with anything or after a short range

Her character model design feels initially a bit dull, but the gameplay mechanics looks interesting and I'm sure they'll have some sick skins to compensate.

So... reaper wraith with doomfist quick jab, hog right click, underground reverse doomfist slam, genji dash, and rein shatter? Edit: not here to trash the abilities or call them unoriginal, I actually love watching dev testing videos where they show how they model new hero abilities using modifications of the existing ones. Edit2: admittedly "underground reverse doomfist slam" was a stretch... :')

more simple characters are good. have no idea how they will play though until we actually see gameplay.

I feel like you completely misunderstood what Tectonic Shock (ult) does. In the trailer it very obviously shows a cone effect like Reinhardt, and if you pay attention you can see it can send out multiple waves, as the first one baits out Moira fade, then the second one hits her. My guess is that they did try the 360 AOE, but that left Venture way too vulnerable in the middle of the enemy team. So they made it more of an angle based ranged attack so you have some relative safety.

They are gonna add such a new way to playing overwatch and i cant wait to see their playstyles and how many times they will fall of the map

Reinhardts Earthshatter should counter Venture when Venture is underground. Just saying Reinhardt needs all the love he can get.

Sojourn used to be the hero I found least appealing from an artwork pov, but that just changed.

1. She's pretty much just Chomper from PVZ Garden Warfare. 2. That's literally just Reinhardt's Ultimate with longer range. 3. Why does she sound like she's a 12 yr old XD.

I will say, as a player since 2016, this reveal wasn't exciting nor was it boring, it was just..."meh, ok". This character feels very random and just thrown in the roster just because. 🤷

This will be interesting to see, if the abilities work like I think, she could burrow into a drill dash and then emerge from the ground after that (like some sort of land dolphin), and then shoot the excavator for a combo of three attacks. I had compared the burrow to wraith form before but something I did not consider was healing. Her supports can't support her if she is underground, sorta like Mei's ice block, as they won't have line of sight to her,. I wonder if she can still get anything from Mercy if tethered before burrowing?

She looks like she woulda been really fun to use back in over watch one rein orissa meta

So Genjis Wakizashi (His melee weapon) deals less damage than a drill with only one sharp end. Or Illari with a gun which has sword sfx when she swings it... no? Drill... More melee... cool... (I'm avoiding talking about Kiriko... kunai need no buff)

Sty there’s a mobile game called T3 arena that’s just like overwatch in a way and they already have this type of character 😎

When venture is attacking the mei it almost looks like he cant burrow under her wall, its probably just the way they recorded it but if he can't then thats pretty dumb

Venture sounds like they are just the Reaper re-work on a new character model. excavator = a better shotgun because of crit potential burrow = a more tactical wraith form because you do damage when exiting drill dash = a modified shadow step movement ability, can't go as far but you aren't a sitting duck explorers resolve = similar to reaping but instead of damage based it is ability based (so aim and dps matter less) tectonic shock = better death blossom because it appears you aren't a sitting duck as long either Plus you get an extra passive with clobber. So on one hand, they should be an easy hero to learn for Reaper players. On the other, I think this kills Reaper as a pick until the Reaper re-work.

I was watching a Flats video about Venture and unfortunately there was a comment thread with 500+ likes hating on Stylosa… Man it was just sooo heartbreaking to see so many people hating on Sty… Sty is such an incredible content creator and a real asset to the OW community. I had no idea there was such pure hatred out there for him

It looks like devs just adding new character to change the tempo of the game, while forgetting about the previous ones and how they don't really fit the current game tempo

Some of what venture got genji needs like he hits you with a knife he should do more damage also shields for dashing in that be dope Edit: Also invulnerability when dashing would be nice

Visually, my least liked character in the entire game without question. It's more than just the face (though, that is part of it), it's also the less focused on details like how someone with such a small frame is lugging around a huge weapon. Zarya fits with her laser cannon because of her muscular frame and no one questions it, but we don't see anything on this character to believe they should be carrying that weapon. Then we have to think about how rather than go for a character who would be in-game believable as far as the digging part goes, like a beastial omnic with drill attachments or a really beefy person with visually identifiable augments like Mauga, we just get some plain, small human. It could have been a lot better.
