@@Carloss86py dude, Federer was asked what does he think of Djokovic overturning that match and said basically that Novak got lucky, that his monster returns were a fluke. By saying that, he dismissed a lifetime of Novak's hard work which allowed him to develop the skillset and mental toughness that he uses in so many clutch moments. That Federer's quote right there is a point where he stepped down as a GOAT and did so without any grace or class. Have a nice day.

He should probably give up on trying to win any more majors and just settle on winning smaller tournaments so that he can break Jimmy Connors record of most matches won, which stands at 1274. Federer though is not far behind at 1242. If he plays for just a couple more years he should break that very impressive record.

He gave us 2017 AO, that's more than anything we fans had ever wished for. Sure 2019 was a huge disappointment, and this too is a bit sad, but he's given us all the memories we need. Hope to see him playing for as long as he's happy.

My son and I watched Federer in his heyday. Him and Sampras defined tennis to me. He made the game fun to watch. I will be sad to see him go. 40 and injured is very old for the sport of tennis. Sadly none of us are immune to age and injury

Federer made it to the quarters of Wimbledon and that is an achievement in itself. He needs more and more competitive matches to get fully match: fit and sharp. It is a gradual process but that is the only way.

@@nikr00 I also think without Federer, these two would not have such amazing careers like they do now. Federer was THE GUY to beat, and that forced them to become way better than what they would've had to be if he hadn't been there. Not taking any credits away from Nadal nor Djokovic though, and same goes for Federer being better because he had to play them too. It's just that I mostly started watching and following tennis more when Federer won his 1st major, so that's why he'll forever be my favorite.

To reach the quarters at 40 after 2 knee surgerys and a year off just shows how incredible he really is. If the corrupt ATP didn't slow down every surface in 2008 to stop his invincibility, and without his back problems, he would've won at least 30 maybe 40 titles. Except clay he was virtually unbeatable before they slowed them down. Socialising tennis and making it more about brute strength rather timing placement n skill which is Roger will always be in a league of his own... .

Everytime Federer plays , even if he's down two sets , I believe he would produce magic , the kind of magic he has been showing for almost two decades . This is the sad cycle of life. Our bones start to creak, muscles start to weaken and no longer can do the optimal things we were once able to do! It was a pleasure to watch Federer play at the highest level for so long and he is an exceptional human being.

Roger the legend. To be playing at his age is incredible, then to be at that level is even more fantastic.. the mere presence of the legend, lights up the Stadia, the cities and the countries too.. After some of the greatest achievements, the urge to perform is truly symbolic of the passion and commitment.. he is such a motivation for all

He is amongst the top 3 tennis players of all time. What's there left to prove? He will remain favorite of many. He won so many hearts and has broken so many hearts as well. He had an immense effect on the entire generation, brought the crowds on their feet but people always keep asking for more. If he retires, it's okay with me. If he doesn't, it'll be great to see him again. Such a iconic personality, deserves a graceful farewell. I will always be a Federer fan for my lifetime. ❤
