For your first comment, my point isn't that kungfu movies themselves push Asian stereotypes, although I can totally see where you got that from. What I meant is that as a general rule, movies with lead Asians popular with the West are usually about kungfu. There are hardly any movies that seek to explore the Asian-American experience of an immigrant child's cultural dissonance. My point is that as an Asian-Canadian, I almost never see myself in cinema, if that makes any sense. Shang Chi is awesome because he's a character that's relatable and embodies my experience growing up in Canada as an Asian. In a nutshell, I'm not race baiting and saying that Western society is super racist or whatever, that's another conversation. Just saying I'm happy to see a relatable character in a big movie. For your second comment, I actually have heard about stories of anti-black racism in China and it's a terrible thing. I was never implying that Canada is more racist than China, or vice versa. Racism is a byproduct of difference and our natural tendency as humans to form groups with the like and be suspicious of the other. If you were to ask me for my opinion, I would actually agree that China is quite racist towards black people. Anyhow, no hard feelings lolol. Hope we can have a productive dialogue without insulting each other.

@@sayhello7790 Chinese racism is also a difficult problem (probably won’t change) because 99%of the pop has never been outside of China or ever seen a different race. In that way, different races such as African American take on almost a mythical status. The only time they’ve seen it is on TV or the NBA. Thus, the racist tail comment can be spread like a rumor or a game of telephone

Exactly 7 years ago I met her at a dive bar in Dallas when she was on tour opening up for Kitty Pryde. She was one of the coolest people I have ever met and she is also a really great performer. I never heard of her before that night but I instantly became a fan of hers. I'm so happy to see all of the success that she has gained these past few years, she definitely deserves it!

So Shang-Chi started his normal life since 2014 but if he was a victim of the Snap, then he started his normal life the same year Tony Stark was kidnapped by the Ten Rings. 2009 + 9 = 2018/2023 2018/2023 + 1 = 2019/2024
