Transparency mode was my biggest grip with the momentum 2s. It's nice to know that the momentum 3s have a slider for transparency mode.

That was the logical thing to do. Compare the MOmentum 3 with the Momentum 2. Congrats for the video. I have the CXBT400 and for the moment I will not go further with Sennheiser. I am very happy with my Jabra 7 Active and the Beats Studio Buds. Good job!!!!

As an extremely happy MTW2 daily user, I'm even happier to say that the new MTW3 buds are noticeably better sounding, better fitting, nicer looking, and have very nice noise canceling. The ui control options and layout is better too. The fit inside the ear is more comfortable for me thanks to the new silicone fitting that hugs the outer part of the ear hole entrance. I thought the spec differences weren't going to be anywhere as noticeable as they are but these sounds quite a bit better to me. I also love the bass boost option for much of the music I listen to. They really did it right on these as I love intense punchy bass without muddling up the mids and highs and my God, these are perfect imho. I've owned every high end bud I can find so far and nothing has stood up to the MTW2's until now. If you already own the 2's and want to know of its worth the upgrade, I say it absolutely is! The sound quality is amazing, the punchy bass option is unbeatable for bass you can both feel and hear, and the noise canceling is so impressive. I have large tractor and zero turn mower with a large and loud engine right behind my head and I cannot even hear it with the MTW3's in. It's shocking actually. Couldn't be happier with these. Sennheiser killed it. Now I can't wait for whatever they do with the next gen in a few years.

The upgrade is worth it i sold my TW2 and got the tw3. The wireless charging and the fact u can use either bud outside of the case makes a huge difference. They also look nicer and fit better imo and that bass is still wooooo

Glad you're enjoying them as much as I as man! The fit alone won me over. Sennheiser has said that multipoint is coming in the future so I'm assuming that they will do like Jabra and give it in a update.

I bought the Momentum TW3 a few days ago after my Galaxy Buds + died. While the sound quality and the ANC is really good, there's always an annoying delay of 1-2 seconds for the audio to start playing when they connect to a device. With the Galaxy Buds + it was instant.

I love my Airpods Pro and they really brought me back from over-ear to earbuds. But these feel like a game-changer. The soundquality is outstanding. Some don't like the Sennheiser sound, but to me it sounds far better than the sony sound or the apple sound. ANC is amazing as well. Sennheiser again show, that they are technically superior to most competitors and play in the highest league. Apple and Sony can be happy that they have a bigger marketing budget.

Critical question: Can i charge my MTW2s in the MTW3 case? Would highly appreciate the answer as I recently lost the case for MTW2 and don't feel like spending $90 for the new one. Would rather buy the new ones and keep the old earbuds as spares.

Excuse me Sir, is the app setting can be carried on when I use the earbuds on PC? Like EQ setting and ANC on/off setting? I mainly use earbuds in quiet room connected to PC, and I would like to turn off the ANC for longer battery life...

they sound good but my two biggest complaints are 1. they will occasionally sound glitchy 2. sometimes the buds struggle connecting to the case for charging.

I have the MTW 3's. Unfortunately AptX adaptive doesn't work on my OnePlus 9 pro. The sound starts to creak after a couple of seconds... And after 30 seconds the left earbud quits playing. Also in my opinion the case is still way to large to keep it in your pocket and the max volume is too low.

As an owner of both I prefer the more premium looking design of the MTW2 but the MTW3 fit better and are much more comfortable. MTW3 are more plastic looking. I find the MTW3 has a more softer sound but with more clarity but the Bass boost feature is nice for a jam session. Battery life is much much better with the MTW3, it was one of my biggest issues with the MTW2. This is helped by the MTW3 having higher capacity batteries. ANC is much better with the MTW3 but the benefit of a slider rather than just Off, On and Anti Wind would have been better but none the less it adapts well. Multipoint I've been told by Sennheiser will be in a future release for MTW3 but no timeframe. The microphones are vastly improved in MTW3, no complaints from person on the other end anymore when I'm on calls in any environment (within reason) My personal opinion, I don't entirely think it's worth the upgrade if you purchased your MTW2 at full price but if you purchased discounted then do upgrade, at least this is the case for me. Though if reliance on ANC and Calls were your biggest use then certainly upgrade and you'll notice a big difference. Great review!

I noticed my momentum 2 have been crap since last update. The sound became very flat with not much to it and they even removed the custom controls.

Thanks for the excellent comparison. It answered most of my questions regarding the 3's except one. I like to use the ANC on all of my buds at maximum effectiveness. Unfortunately the 3's don't offer a manual setup for this. I tried using the adaptive noise cancelation on my Liberty 3 pro's and it just didn't cut it. Do the 3's take that same approach to ANC or do they cut out noise similar to a manual setting? Thanks!👍

it depends.. for my ears: the mice of the 2, sounds better in a quiet environment... the 3's mic had a cleaner, more real voice with some background noise leaking in, during the noise canceling mic test. the 2's mic had a more artificial sound and with small cuts in, ( i assume thats the algorithm trying to filter more aggressively) but background noise was almost cut out entirely... so it depends on what you like more.. i rather have the Momentum 2-s mic, cuz the noise cancelation works better , even with the caveat that the algorithm does try's to hard, so the sound wont be natural anymore...

Momentum 3 or Liberty 3 pro for sound quality ? Which one is better ?

I had the Jabra 75t, and I loved their audio quality, but they had a hiss on the left “hero” bud, and that aggravated my tinnitus, so I gave them away to family. I got the MTW3s last week, and they have even better audio quality, and no hiss.

Glad that the sound quality is better in the 3s ...cos I always felt I needed just a little more bass in the Sennheiser momentum 2s ... Wish you would compare the momentum tws 3 to technics AZ60 ...in terms of sound quality which do you think sounds better...I am considering the AZ60 for the case size ..more pocketable..

microphone sound way better on the Momentum 2. If its only about soundquality i dont think they are worth the upgrade when u use the Momentum 2 in audophile sound mode. If you care a lot about Design and the NC then there is an argument but as the mic on the W2 is way better for me not any reason to upgrade. the sound difference between TW1 and TW2 was way bigger then the TW2 and the TW3. and to say "they sound better" here you need to be more detailled and it depends what kind of music u want to listen. If you listen bass oriented music then the TW3 is an upgrade but if you are an audioophile listener in multigenre and its about Detail, transparency and resolution they are on the exact same level. and the "fit better" point depends very well on your ear shape.

Got mine today. After 1.min cracking noise the left or right earbud disconnecting and will not play music. Tryed factory reset, delete app. Download again but same issue when pairing...

One thing to note about the momentum 2s I they're extremely fragile. Went through 3 buds over a 6 month period just by double tapping. The inner driver would separate.

Devialet Gemini definitely sounds better than M3 , in terms of imaging and volume loudness, IMO Can you compare Devialet Gemini with M3 ?

I have the sennheisers first gen and I think they sound better than the 2nd. Downside only 4 hours battery life but sound is what it’s about right. The 1st gen you can now get for 100quid on Amazon. I will prob get the 3rd gen at some point at the moment my go to a the b & o’s EQ’s.

My senny 2 just crapped out on me, but tbh I never really appreciated their sound signature. Liked the XM3s better and considering the XM4s. Prices are pretty high on both brands though.

be careful about TW2. after 5 months of usage, the right earbud stopped giving sound and it's apparently an infamous issue with TW2s. Also, it's very hard to get a response from Sennheiser.

I have the momentum 3 and sometimes there is no sound when everything is connected. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it? This should not be happening at $250 price point.

I agree with this review. The sound on the sony isnt impressive AT ALL. Hopefully the new ones sound better and they improve the bass. The Sonys sound kinda muffled with the treble somewhat and lacks crisp bass. Its not terrible but for $300 it should be a lot better. Noise canceling is awesome tho. Self-control is something everyone should have lol. I don't buy everything that comes out just because. Neither should anyone else unless they have money to waste.

I have the momentum 2's everyone says how great they sound on the phone while I'm driving. All I use them for is the phone because the volume is too low for my liking. I have tried everything to increase the volume very disappointed. The volume is acceptable on my LG TV when I pair my earbuds to it. For some reason Samsungs software has the volume too low. $300 I paid for these 2 years ago. It's a shame I only use when on the phone. I'm willing to try the 3's due to the hype. If the volume is low with Samsung fold 5 I will be sending them back. I got high hopes. 🤞

They definitely need to add anc settings...all that customability in the app but took away anc choices...i hate adaptive anc I want to have strong on at all times even if I'm in a quiet environment

I have a pair of these and they need to be improved when outside as they pick up way to much air breeze when walking around as they introduce this into your ear way to easily. Even had it walking around my house indoors there just to sensitive for it. And I know they have a wind option but to be honest that’s used when it is windy not when it’s a light very calm air moving around you ears. This Needed to be addressed. As well as adding full on ANC as the adaptive on public transport just makes them adjust way to much. That you sometimes notice it.

More bass and more Volume doesnt means "better Sound" For me the M3 have exactly same Sound quality. and as long as you dont need more Volume or you are absolutely crazy and want "too much" Bass. There is not any need to upgrade. If you dont have the 2 or 3 and buy new well makes sense to buy the 3. but Mics sound better on the 2... you dont go wrong with both. and Mabye you can get the 2 on a better deal.

From the photos you are showing, there's obviously a visual difference. The left (black) case is way smaller than the right one.

I have already spend al lot of money for the sennhiser momentem 2 and sound quality and the bass sound great. However for me to upgrade to the sennhiser momentem 3 is going to be more expensive yet again. Yes it has a bass boost and wireless charging to. And yes it sound much more better then the sennhiser momentem 2 but would I upgrade to the sennhiser momentem 3. My be yes or no. Sony wf-1000xm4 are much better for bass. Sennheiser Momentum TW 2 sound is much better than in 3. The 3 very Uncomfortable after 10 minutes for me. Send them back bought tw 2
