Nice video. One correction though, The sharp distance sensor (IR reflectometer based) doesn't detect angles. It detects the amount of light getting back. It is affected by the angle of transmit of the IR LED and the angle of arrival (angles are field of view) of IR photodetector (Wider LED angle will lead to more noise from other objects than what you're trying to detect, and Wider Photodetector angle of arrival will catch noise from wider range of directions). The angle as shown in the video cannot be measured like that. It works in a similar fashion as the IR sensor shown after, just that it's more directional.

I've been watching your videos for a short while, and you do a good job describing how the things you are using, work, and in particular, the use of this variety of modules. I'm just beginning arduino, long time in electronics, before most of this came on the market. Thanks for very clear, and logical descriptions, and explanation of how and where you use them.

@@ELECTRONOOBS You sir, have clearly gone from entering the technology, to enjoying the fullness of it. I did the same, fifty years ago, learning tube technology as solid state arrived. I can see you've gotten quite comfortable with the use of solid state, and particularly, software. I spent two decades in high end military electronics, with a good handle of both the transition, and use of solid state. You've clearly entered with solid state, the accompanied programming connected, something I'm behind in, we programmed individual systems, but each was unique, even perhaps to its "decade", and I'm very weak in the technology that has arrived since two decades ago. I believe you established yourself in a niche that is meaningful, and valuable for your future, and those who learn from you. I suggest you plan to be someone, and don't let anyone tell you "you can't get there from here", you are skilled at sharing your knowledge, and that is a gift. Make a good life out of this, despite the circumstances. I believe you will be doing very well and amazing yourself, if you aren't doing so already. I'm a machinist and mechanic, and over fifty years, bought a machine shop, and run it. Life is good, when one chooses to live fully, and in it. I've got some different ink of my own, so I have some idea where you came from. We aren't held back by that, unless we let ourselves be. I've been absolutely amazed at the quality, capabilities, and low cost of arduino, and you are in a good position to be teaching a new generation, and not in a formal school, with the bullshit that comes with that. I've messed with a box of arduino parts for a couple years, made a few things, but you open the way, I can't get in a book, they don't answer questions. I look forward to every video. I'm sixty three, but not too old to learn. Thanks again,
