Now this is a nice budget conversion. So many video's out with these fancy expensive build. That take a year or 2 to build. Which isn't possible for a lot of people. That want a cheap way to live and be able to travel. This is a perfect way to start out. You can always add and change things as you go. Plus if you decided bus life isn't for you then you didnt lose a ton of money, over something that didnt work for you. This is a smart way to start out in bus life and the build looks great has everything you need. Great Job... Also love the doggy she is so pretty. I was very surprised to hear how old she is. She looks young for her age and still can jump up on the fridge to get in bed. Most dog once they get older dont move as well as she does.... Wish you two and your doggy all the best....

This beautiful and functional for the cost!! I loved seeing this because not everyone has 20k+ to build out their bus! Some times we just need a home and not all the luxe!

I for one am proud of you guys! It's refreshing to see budget builds, and it's built how YOU want it. If you want more luxury you can always save up and change things later on down the road. We are starting our own budget build and figuring out the floor plan, and all the other thousands of things to figure out on a build. There will be nay-sayers and viewers with negative comments, but screw-'em! I don't see their builds on You-Tube! It's pretty easy to watch a video and criticize, but it takes determination, grit, perseverance, hard work, thrift, and a whole bunch of ingenuity to create a budget skoolie. Good for you! Anyone with a fat wallet or a huge line of credit can get a luxury skoolie made for them and claim it as "their own build", or throw enough bought and pre-made parts at a bus to make it look all fancy... I like the builds where the owners stretch their dollar, where it makes them think, be analytical of space, and make do with what they have or can afford. After all... isn't skoolie life all about saving money, being creative, having adventures and giving the middle finger to convention? Otherwise we'd all buy factory built cookie-cutter motorhomes, or stay mortgage ridden and chained to a house. Then again- What do I know... I'm just a mechanic. I like many aspects of your build and wondered if we may use some of your ideas for our own bus? We watch many, many bus build videos and are compiling a scribbler of ideas we like from each build, and some things we aren't into- that way when the time comes to finalize our floor plan/interior layout we will hopefully have a good idea of where to begin. For me, adventures aren't always far off down the road at some distant location... The best adventures start out with dreams and ideas sketched out on paper. Then take shape in yards, shops and driveways- giving birth to adventure vehicles built by the hands, souls and minds of those who dare to be different. As with people, so are skoolies- not one is the same. May you embrace your adventures, for they are yours to keep. Roll on skoolie squad- Roll on.

The best builds are ones like this, I love to see couple's starting out with a budget build. Great job guys, some really good ideas here. 💡

This is by far the NICEST budget build I've ever seen & I watch ALOT of bus builds. This is proof that even if your bus is a BUDGET FRIENDLY DIY that it CAN STILL be VERY NICE! GREAT JOB GUYS! Very innovative! Kept it simple yet very functional & nice looking!!!

Congratulations you two. You had a dream and a budget. The budget wasn't big, but it covered all the basics. You didn't mortgage yourselves by wanting more than you could afford. You did it yourselves and probably learned a few skills on the way. Your bus looks homely and comfortable - the fancy bits can come later. I like that you are sensible, starting simply, and being prepared to wait until you can afford the upgrades. Be happy, enjoy your travels knowing that you both are a fine example to others.

This is the best budget build I have seen, and it looks comfy and homey. I especially love the tool storage shell and the stenciling. This is the first build I have seen that makes me think I can do it myself, and not have it look like total $hit. Nice job!

So I'm just going to say this because I really admire people who do these builds, the storage area, even though the screws are not exposed, a crowbar or pry bar will allow entry. Same as it is with the front door. I'd reach out to the community for some cost effective solutions. Safety is job one. 😊

there is usually only the need for 2 wires to wire that chair one 12 volt positive and one 12 volt negative pretty hard to go wrong there is a moduale plug under the seat by the control switch if you know what it came out of you can google for a diagram all I did on mine

This isn't the most glamorous conversion I've seen! From the chair that only reclines to the lock on the front door it's pretty hilarious! It's kind of like the Uncle Buck of bus conversions!
