(I was the second rant read) I have been waiting for this video ever since I sent that email and I'm so glad that there are people who are willing to hear me out and help me. It made me cry watching this. You may not know me personally but the fact that you said you have faith in me gives me all the courage in the world. Thank you so much

Story time, Snerixx!! Okay, so ... I am a twenty-two-year-old retail worker. At the store that I work at, we sell Squishmellows --- stuffed toys that look like various creatures, animals, characters, and so on. Since they are SO popular, it's a policy that we only allow two Squishmellows to be purchased per customer. Why are they so popular? I have no idea. I mean, they ARE cute and I DO have some of my own; but they are actually pretty expensive and people typically buy them JUST to resell them for higher prices. That's ANOTHER reason why we have the policy. This whole shift was VERY busy in general. My coworkers, managers, and I had a TON of customers, particularly because of people purchasing gifts for Christmas and COVID tests for their own reasons. My brother was one of my coworkers on this day and it was VERY busy for the two of us. He and I were the cashiers. Meanwhile, everybody else was handling stockwork and the photo department. Shortly after my break (which I took at 7:00 P.M.), this woman came through my line. She had black hair, brown eyes, and white skin. She was also talking on the phone and --- honestly --- that is pretty difficult for cashiers since we often need to communicate with the customer. At first, I didn't say anything ... but then, she put down SIX of the Squishmellows. I told her that I can only sell her two since it was the store's policy ... and just like that, this woman went FULL Karen. She said, "I've bought more than two Squishmellows PLENTY of times before!" With that, I told her, "Well, I've been told that it's actually a policy that we can only sell two per customer. So, that's all I can do for you tonight." She then went on to say, "It's NOT a policy! There's NO sign back there!" Also, I would like to point out there WAS a sign. By this point, I pointed her to my manager and this woman stormed over to her. My manager told her that it was true --- that it WAS a policy of ours and that the managers (such as herself) have the right to limit whatever products in the store that they wish, whether there's a sign or not. A line was forming and all of the other customers were staring at this woman in total disgust, shock, and judgment. This woman continued to belittle my manager, only for my manager to say, "Ma'am, there IS a sign back there! I'm sorry if you didn't see it, but we've been VERY busy!" Then, this woman had the nerve to say, "It's not MY fault that you're busy!!" I ended up telling this woman, "Ma'am, we are human beings that are just trying to do our jobs." And you could tell by the tone of my voice that I WASN'T planning on letting her walk all over me. She threatened to call corporate, which my manager encouraged her to do so. I proceeded to check out two of the Squishmellows for this woman, who kept making snide comments at me. She said something among the lines of, "I'm going to be waiting in this line for over an hour all because YOU want to make this difficult!" I repeated to her that it was just policy and told her the price. Then, as she paid, she said that she wanted to hold the other four Squishmellows until her mom got there so SHE could buy them. I told the woman that I couldn't allow that because that wouldn't be fair to the other customers --- that we can't just "reserve" items unless you paid for them online. Plus, even her mom would've only been able to pay for two of the four remaining Squishmellows. I told the woman, "I'm going to keep them behind the counter." Then, the woman said to me, "I want to hold them!!" And I said with a deadpan, "Ma'am, I have other customers in line to handle." And she said, "Did I SAY that I was going to be waiting in line??!!" I replied with, "I have to handle other customers now." And this woman LITERALLY said, "Give me the Squishmellows!!" With that, I put my foot down and even my brother confirmed that you could hear the firmness in my voice as I said, "NO. I will NOT give them to you." With that, the woman stormed out of line like a toddler. She was complaining on the phone to her mom (and yes, this was a GROWN WOMAN) and I apologized to the other customers for having to listen to all of this. With that, the woman scoffed and was like, "Did you hear that, Mom?? She's APOLOGIZING to the other customers because she thinks I'm being a bitch!" And I just rolled my eyes as I said, "Nobody said that, Ma'am." The woman marched out of the store, but not without dropping some F-bombs and ridiculing me some more. With this, other customers came up to me and apologized for how AWFUL that woman had been --- telling me that she was a "crazy bitch" and that "she had NO right to speak to me that way." I literally had a woman from the cosmedics section come over to me and say, "I overheard EVERYTHING and I just want to say I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. Have a merry Christmas, okay? Don't listen to people like that." So, over an hour goes by. By this point, I had actually purchased one of the Squishmellows for myself. After all, it was Employee Discount day. I had continued to handle more customers ... and suddenly, my manager calls me over the store's phone. As I answer, she tells me that the SAME WOMAN had gone to ANOTHER one of our stores and literally CRIED to the manager there about "how we had been mean to her." Again, this is a GROWN ASS WOMAN. Not only that, but she had told the other manager that "he needed to tell us to give her the Squishmellows because she has a TON of kids." She didn't even care about the policy!! Then, she had the nerve to LIE to the manager of THAT store by saying that she "left her eighty-year-old grandmother" at OUR store. She wasn't even WITH anybody when she was at OUR store. And you know what the other manager of THAT store actually told her? ... "We have the same policy. We only sell two per customer, too." Then, just as I finished answering the call of another customer, I saw a woman march up in my line. She had dark hair, dark brown eyes, pale skin, and glasses ... and I could tell just by looking at her that she was that woman's mom. I kept my cool as I asked if I could help her. She literally responded with, "You have the Squishmellows back there." My voice immediately became bland as I told her, "Actually, Ma'am, three of the Squishmellows were placed back on the shelf and one of them was purchased by another customer." I left out the detail about ME being the 'customer.' Just like that, THIS woman went TOTAL Karen. She scoffed and rolled her eyes, saying, "That was MY daughter who came for those!" I maintained my bland tone as I said, "I'm aware, Ma'am. My manager instructed that we put them back." This lady went on to say, "I drove all the way out here from *place* because YOU wouldn't sell them to my daughter!! They should still be back there!!" And I said, "Ma'am, it's our store's policy that we can only sell two per customer. My manager told us to put them back. So, that's what we did." And this woman was on the phone WITH HER DAUGHTER. So, she literally PUT HER ON SPEAKER and the daughter said, "I f*cking told them to hold them!!!" The WHOLE store heard it and more customers were disgusted in their behavior. I fought the urge to roll my eyes, repeating myself on how my manager told me to put them back. With this, the woman said, "Well, your manager is going to have to look for a new job!!!" And me, not giving a crap, retaliated with, "I wouldn't be so sure about that." This woman stormed back to the toy section, where the Squishmellows were. As this happened, the OTHER manager went to speak with her and it was MORE than obvious that this manager wasn't pleased with this lady's attitude either. I called the manager from before and explained everything to her as this was going on. As this woman came back up to the register, she was belittling my OTHER manager and basically saying that "we needed to do a better job at our jobs." By that point, I wasn't holding back and rolling my eyes. I was also grinning widely behind my mask as the result of this woman's stupidity. My second manager asked her if she wanted to type her phone number in, only for the woman to scoff and say, "I wouldn't give it to YOU even if my life depended on it!" ... Even though we only ask because at OUR store, you can get discounts if you are signed up with your phone number. I kept laughing to myself from the woman's ridiculous and nasty behavior, only for the woman to say to me, "Go ahead and keep laughing!! I'll get you fired, too!!" And I just raised my eyebrows at her, still noticeably being smug by smiling --- even with my mask covering it. After all, my managers knew just how AWFUL this woman and her daughter had been. So, I knew I wouldn't be getting in trouble anytime soon. This woman went on to complain to her daughter over the phone about how we had "stupid ass machines" when it came to payment and that "we were all horrible staff." On her way out, my manager told her with a roll of her eyes to have a nice night, only for the woman to rudely scoff at her. Then, as she was leaving, she told her daughter, "Just wait! They'll probably keep laughing as I walk out the door!" And I, not giving a crap, called out to her, "See ya!!" ... Like mother, like daughter. They were both VERY horrible and disgusting. In the words of my first manager, they were both "very bitchy."

It’s really nice to not only feel like we’re being seen, but we’re also being seen my someone we’d consider a hero (of sorts). So, thank you (again). And that little “thank you for being here” might have just made my day.

"You don't have to do anything for anyone if you don't want to." I tell my parents that as a desperate last resort and they think it's rediculous. Like no it's not I've done so much for so many people I'm done, I don't have to help you I do not owe you anything. I can also relate a ton to 15:09 and that whole rant. To whoever wrote the last one: I understand and see what your going through, it's so hard to get through life knowing that we just have to keep living. Hey Sam, I appreciated this video so much because even though you didn't go over mine, I could use a lot of the advice and love you sent during this video 💕 I would definitely be interested in another video like this

Watching this a year too late, but I also really needed to hear this today. Regarding the last rant: I have been there. I’ve known the dread of not knowing how you’re going to get through the next week, or month, or year(mostly due to financial struggles), and you’re right that the best thing to do is take it one step at a time. That’s mainly what got me through the past…two to three years-ish? Since my brother and I moved out of the house we grew up in. Time is a weird soup. In any case, just keep going. Try to do as much as you can handle on any given day, whether that’s just getting out of bed and practicing hygiene/self care, or going to work, or cleaning your space, or doing something creative, etc. Keep setting daily goals for yourself. If you’re like me and get overwhelmed or sidetracked easily, make a daily checklist of tasks that seems reasonable for you to get through. Being able to check things off really makes the completionist in me happy, which makes tasks less daunting.

This would make a great series just saying.

I think it’s great that you encourage people to seek the help of a counselor or therapist if they feel they need some support and/or guidance. There’s no shame at all in asking for help. I hope that seeking mental healthcare becomes normalized soon!

The soap dispenser thing really sucks, they actually shut down my sons school and the local high school after kids started doing that last year. So now there are no bathrooms available during the school day for the kids.

I 💯 agree with #2 and more the fact that I give give give and the people that take take take get unreasonably angry and upset every time I am otherwise engaged with family or whatever… to the point they will do and say everything in their power to make me feel horrible almost to the point of having me drop my current engagement just so they can have their way….. I have found that honestly it almost like it’s my fault for enabling them in the first place…. It sucks

I learned as I grew up that family can be anyone. Family doesn't have to be blood or a shared household. I can understand this as I am older and still the black sheep. I don't fit my family.

You are such a lovely human being. This video kept popping up on my feed, and even though I LOVE your videos I kept scrolling past it. I was afraid it was going to be really negative like the vast majority of what we see in videos these days. I should have known better! Even in your Karen videos you are the one UKpostsr that is able to see past a breakdown to realize when a person is actually going through something rather than just being an awful Karen. The one time I have ever been called a Karen is when I stood up for someone that was being harassed for being a Karen, but her feelings and emotions were totally justified So thank you for seeing the humanity in people. We need more of that in this world. Also, I think the fact you talked about the importance of asking for help and the reality that the person on the other end of the phone might be someone just like you is going to give people alot more strength and confidence to reach out to these hotlines. I mean, we all already know you’re awesome, so if the people answering phones trying to help people are anywhere near as amazing as you are there’s nothing to be afraid of! Thank you for everything you do. God Bless. Side note… it blows my mind that you live in Florida! Especcially with everything your want to be dictator has been doing lately and the insane laws he’s been passing the last couple of weeks you are the antithesis of everything Florida currently stands for. That being said, I’m very glad to know that there are still people like you living there to stand with the people who are being discriminated against.

24:18 watching this again. I want to add that there is ABSOLUTELY NO SHAME on needing help. I've wa hospitalized for mental health 6 times in my 20s. Also something that helped me was making an emotional first aid kit. You can find books and ideas online.
