Regarding the last text interaction, funny story: whenever my boyfriend of two years texts me, I answer pretty much immediately. I always have my phone close by and taking 5 minutes from work doesn't feel like a burden. But he has pointed out how this developed over time. During the first months of our relationship he would send me a couple of texts throughout the day, and would not expect an answer until the very end, because I was busy and would not take the time to write back. It takes time to get so invested in a person that you don't mind answering texts in the middle of working hours.

Regarding the Instagram interaction, it sounds like a stereotypical psychic scam. They would tell you something like that and make you pay ludicrous amounts of money for the “prayer”

That prayer text one sure looked like a scam text asking for money, but they skipped that part which turned that into a really creepy text. And that one toxic boyfriend needed to have an entire chapter in Dr. Jaime's (Recollected Self's YT channel) new book. Because that was the very definition of a toxic, narcissistic person. Can't bring up past actions, deflects all of his rude behavior on his past environment, and promises marriage if she just drops all her reasonable boundaries.

I struggle with maintaining friendships if I don’t see the person every day. Mostly because when I try to initiate texting conversations, there will be a few regular exchanges, and then eventually I’ll end up texting them a few more times over the next few days. And then check in a week later. And then just….stop trying so I don’t seem like I’m flooding them. But then I’ll get a text a year or two later like “hey what’s up lol I can’t believe we never talk!! Here’s an update about my life, how are you???” And then I’ll give them an update and then…nothing. Rinse and repeat every few months or years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm an early Halloween celebrator.

I am 53 and have never celebrated Halloween in my life! We just don't do it here in the UK. In fact, I have not seen any trick or treaters for at least 5 years. I do not get it. The only holiday I used to celebrate is Christmas and I have given up on that for the last 6 years. It's just another day.

I lost my "best friend" this year. We know each other for about 5 or 6 years and he definatly was my closest friend. He didn't spend much time with me, but that was fine. What broke the straw is, my dad died this year. He had an accident. I reached out to him and told him that i need a friend. I never responded.
