As a kid who wanted to be a rapper, I will say that this skit is obviously exaggerated but I did have teachers who would see me writing lyrics in class instead of focusing on the curriculum throughout junior high, high school and college who used to tell me that the odds of being a successful rapper are astronomically low and that I should pick a career that is much more realistic. One even called me out in the middle of class and essentially lectured me about it in front of my peers who also thought that my aspirations were ridiculous. Now, I’m nowhere near as successful as I want to be but I am now 25, have my diploma, college degree and make the best music I’ve ever made and genuinely have what it takes to succeed because I’ve stayed down and focused for as long as I have. Follow your dreams, y’all. Fuck what anybody else gotta say about it.
