Well there Is a scientific study about SUGAR killing the bacteria base in the digestion system. Which effects the digestion as these digestion bacteria helps chop the nutrions for us. So future on don't quote "sugar is harmless", because that isn't true. Also after 3 hours eating sugar I would add more good digestion bacteria to balance the digestion system.

### Key Takeaways from Layne Norton's Insights on Health, Diet, and Fitness 1. **Calorie Mismanagement:** People often underestimate their calorie intake due to inaccurate portion sizes, affecting their weight management efforts. 2. **Artificial Sweeteners and Weight Loss:** Diet Coke and similar products can help in weight loss by replacing higher-calorie drinks, though not as beneficial as water. The belief in sugar addiction is supported by Norton, despite it being a controversial topic. 3. **Intermittent Fasting:** It can lead to weight loss not because of any special properties but because it helps some people naturally reduce calorie intake. 4. **Impact of Layne Norton:** Norton is praised for debunking myths in fitness and nutrition, promoting evidence-based approaches. 5. **Overcoming Food Addiction:** Strategies include increasing mindfulness and creating barriers to prevent autopilot eating behaviors. 6. **Motivation and Discipline:** Success in weight management relies more on discipline and long-term habit formation than temporary motivation. 7. **Small Steps in Goal Setting:** Starting with small, manageable goals is more effective for confidence building and long-term success than ambitious ones that may lead to failure and discouragement. 8. **Calories In/Calories Out:** Understanding the balance between energy intake and expenditure is crucial for weight management. Protein has a higher thermic effect, making it more metabolically costly to digest. 9. **Exercise and Weight Loss:** Exercise contributes to weight management not just by burning calories but also by regulating appetite and improving psychological well-being. 10. **Impact of Diet Choices:** Norton argues that no diet is superior for long-term weight loss; adherence and consistency are the key factors. 11. **Artificial Sweeteners:** They can be a tool for weight loss without negatively impacting insulin levels, contrary to common beliefs. Their long-term effects on the gut microbiome and health are still under research. 12. **Resistance Training:** Offers extensive benefits beyond muscle growth, including improved bone density, reduced risk of chronic diseases, and better overall health. 13. **The Role of Failure:** Norton emphasizes the importance of embracing failures as learning opportunities and stepping stones to success. 14. **Critique of the Fitness Industry:** Norton critiques the lack of scientific literacy and the focus on aesthetics over health in the fitness industry. 15. **Supplementation:** Recommends basic supplements like creatine monohydrate and whey protein for their proven benefits in performance and nutrition. 16. **Personal Journey and Motivation:** Norton shares his personal experiences with bullying, PTSD, and his journey into fitness as drivers for his mission to help others and make fitness information accessible.

The last part really moved me to the core. Layne is one of the most beautiful people I've ever heard speak. The fact that he's so full of questions (innate curiosity which coincides with humility) and gratitude is such an inspiration for the kind of person I want to be. To, despite the complexity and pain of a relationship with someone who no doubt survived a lot of trauma, only want to ask questions and say thank you, is so gorgeous it almost shocks me, so unused as I am to seeing such humanity in someone.

This went on until my daughter came home and read me the riot act. She has a nice loud on pitch voice. Our whole small town knew she was pissed at me and why. I just want to highlight the absolute brilliance of this podcast/ UKposts channel. I found this channel because of a celebrity guest that I was a fan of. It has now become one of my favorite nutrition and fitness podcasts I listen to. I love all of his guests! One important thing I have noticed across all his guest is that most of them have a very consistent understanding of health and tend not to contradict each other. Which in the world of dieting and trying to lose weight seems to always be the case. There is a very clear understanding that the body is different for all people and things you put in your body will react differently among all people. I also love that most of his guest have done their own extensive research on their subject matter and is not surface level like most weight loss programs.
