yea its a shame they started the unlapping so late and then only let 5 through. If they had just followed the rules right away they couldve unlapped all cars and there would've been no drama.

Even Lance was on the ball, no-one had the faintest idea what TF was going on here. What a botched scenario, let's not forget that the lapped cars were allowed to overtake after Red Bull pressured Michael Masi. Making this one of the biggest scandals in F1. But people seem eager to forget how much of a hash this is.

Yeah he knew lulu would start crying as usual when beaten by a better driver. I think he wanted to make sure McLaren was ready, in case he needed to pit for inters for the cool down lap, as lulu's tears were flooding the track

10 wins, 10 poles, 18 podiums, 652 laps led, 3 races ruined through no fault of their/his own, 2nd best car. Mercedes had 3 chances to pit, yet they very consciously chose track position over fresh tires. Lewis celebrated a win in silverstone while Max was in hospital. Lewis did not deserve to win in 2021 at all.

The 3 races everything was entirely his fault besides Baku he wouldn’t have gotten the line In copse corner and would’ve gone off anyway and in Monza he just didn’t back off and almost killed Lewis then insulted him afterwards And verstappen would’ve done the same thing Lewis did in silverstone Mercedes chose not to pit so they stay in front of max and if everything was done by rules he would’ve won but that didn’t happen

It was a travesty. Fernando got it SPOT ON as usual. If they don't let us unlap now there will be no time. He was right, race control fucked up then after pressure from Red Bull, allowed *only* cars between Max and Lewis unlap themselves and then for the first time ever, had the SC come straight in. If the restart procedure was done as it has been forever, the race wouldn't have resumed because like I said, Fernando was right and there wasn't enough time.

I think he put it all together immediately and realized what had just happened.

wrong... If they unlaped all cars, Max would be in position to attack, but also to be attacked. They put Max in a position to win, no matter what... Sainz could not fight for 2nd, other guys lost positions, everything to put Max in a position to go for Hamilton, ata a point where all the decisions were made, when they knew exactly what would happening. Also, as much as slipstream as Max could have if they kept backmarkers between Max and Lewis, there is a thing called distance. He could be having slipstream, but there would be distance to get to Lewis. That would not be as easy as you're saying to cover...

But lapped cars have never been allowed to unlap immediately, it's always once the track has been cleared to the satisfaction of the clerk of the course. Unlapping all cars after this point would have meant that cars were still unlapping themselves at the point where the safety car passed the safety car line on the penultimate lap, forcing the safety car to stay out a lap longer. Masi fudged the rules completely. It's clear that the drama of a single lap showdown was prioritised over fair and consistent application of the rules.

No way MV would have caught up (regardless of fresh tires and LH on old) with only one lap to go and 5 cars left between them. You could even see how LH was still able to put up a fight - even with hard tires, over 40 laps old, against fresh softs - and with MV now allowed to start right alongside him.

The problem was never letting lapped cars through... It was letting only some lapped cars through. The problem is that if Masi let all the cars through it may have taken longer and the race would have ended under the SC and Lewis would have won.

@@tristanalleyne3491 Yeah, thats why Jensen Button was saying Masis only fault was not letting the lapped cars unlap themself earlier, either way it would have been the same result with Max winning as Mercedes fumbled 2 pit stops and let lewis dry

@@pr0gn0sis65 I agree Mercedes are at fault. They had the chance to box Lewis under the Giovinazzi VSC, Lewis had tons of pace to catch Max if he didn't box and would have at least given Lewis some fresher tyres to defend against Max later if the Latifi SC did happen.

No dude, the real robbery was not allowing to overtake. They fixed that. Hamilton has nothing to whine about except for his own team being scared about track position.
