Remember, if you ever try to be a director, don't try to be like Scorsese. Try something new and something you don't love as much as your favorite movies but you still need to be passionate about it. I'm directing my film rigtht now and it's hard but if you just don't give a fuck and just chase the movie, you can actually complete it. I'm struggling tho, i need to polish the script, sets and i need to learn stuff like editing, vfx and cinematography. It's hard doing everything by yourself but i hope i can manage to make my vision come to life. Don't care about the non belivers, you can do it.

Scorsese and Pacino have both been in the game for 50 years so to think this is the first time they've done a film together is crazy! Everyone involved are clearly having a great time and enjoying each others' contributions too; I liken this to virtuoso musicians all coming together for a jam. Scorsese, De Niro and Pesci are members of an old band reuniting and now Pacino's come to join in and the result is something epic.

What I love so much about these clips is that so few "behind-the-scenes" actually offer a true glimpse into the filmmaking process. Normally it is a few talking heads of the cast complimenting each other with some shots thrown in of actors moving to their marks in a scene. Here we see the actors and Scorsese figuring it all out, how they process and prepare for the scene; an open conversation between creatives in realizing character and story. Obviously Scorese is one of the most prepared directors, but what I like most here is the freedom he gives his cast. He isn't telling his cast how to move or act, he's providing the emotional side, talking through the character's feelings. Once the actors understand their motivation, it manifests in their voice delivery and facial expressions.

Scorsese is not only a master, he has also this kidness for all his crew. He transmits his joy and passion in spite of the pressure. Working with him must be a happiness.
