The amount of people who are commenting and not realizing this trailer is 5 years old is hilarious. Guys, they aren't adding any new content for ghosts. This is old, and back before ghosts were a thing. The basegame came out really bare bones. Even worse than it is now. The real question is, why the heck is this in all of our recommended sections all of a sudden?! xD (p.s, sims 3 ghosts were cooler.)

Toddlers is obviously still an up in the air subject, but for all we know it's going to get the same treatment. You guys do realise that one of TS4's main purposes was to run better on older machines (because everyone knows that TS3 was such a memory hog) I do understand that it's really annoying that they got rid of all that stuff, but at least we wont have to pay for it when they release it (hopefully.)

It's true. People that aren't happy with the game, will undoubtedly never be happy with it, no matter what EA adds to it. Me? I was excited from the beginning, and only slightly disappointed there were no pools or toddlers. I was more upset there were no ghosts, and I still spent hours upon hours, enjoying the game. I never regretted buying it. And now they've added ghosts, and pools will be coming soon. I am so extremely happy with EA right now. I'm just not happy that I won't have my computer until Sunday. I'm getting a new video card installed. I have to wait until then to try out the new content...bummer :'(

Why is the Sims 4 getting so much hate? Yes they took out some great features that were in the sims 3, but they've added some pretty great stuff too like emotions and the ability to multi-task and a much more advanced build mode. We're still getting some of those lost features, such as ghosts and pools for free in the next few months so let's all just calm down, remember that this is still a very new base game and that sims 3 was also very basic and very limited when it was first released. Let's just be grateful we're still getting Sims after so many years, and enjoy this new game for what it is.

People complaining that aims 4 is a let down and stuff? The things they've added make it soooo much more enjoyable than sims 3, the sims actually act a lot more like humans and multitasking was really needed and the new create a sim is on point, get over it, you lost pools and toddlers, big deal... They'll probably add them in a future update anyway. The only thing I find disappointing about sims 4 is the enclosed world with loading screens every time you go some where different, they should really fix that. Maybe add the create a style option as well cause people always have bitched about that, personally I've never used it though.

I can't believe it. EA listened to all the complains about pools, ghosts and careers and they now give them to you for free and still some people keep complaining... Just don't buy the game then and move on to something else.

6 years later: they have added most of the missing basic stuff to the game and there are tons of packs and yet the game is still bad

I'm not into the ghosts on Sims 4, but I'm so glad they've added them! I'm super happy to see that they're adding things that players have enjoyed the most, makes me really excited for things to come! I'm especially happy that you don't have to pay for this addition. Of course, you shouldn't have to pay for something that should have been in-game in the first place and I'm glad to see they realize that!

Looks like they're following more of a Minecraft model for this game, but I also think fewer people would have complained about the lack of content in the base game if they'd announced this as their plan in the first place. Well, a few fewer at least. I personally think this is a smart move that has allowed them to meet their release deadline and acquire some goodwill in the long run with these free updates. Whether or not these will continue throughout the game's life cycle is a bit up in the air. My hope would be that they continue at least until most of what people felt should've been part of the base game to begin with is available. Beyond that I would also like to see them continue to add things here and there-perhaps things that would normally be shoehorned into an expansion-like the Genies in Showtime. This would ultimately allow the expansions to feel a bit more focused overall.

I love how people in the comments go all crazy because it's "FREE" and so amazing. ... Dude, it's not a "free DLC" it's more of a patch, a fix, for a game that's lacking so much content it's ridiculous. They were so eager to release their game - an unfinished game - and start making money of it, that they decided to do so even though they had other things that they wanted to add (obviously!). I've been disappointed in the Sims 4 ever since I heard of its content, and lack of content, and it has definitely not changed my mind yet. I've said it before and I will say it again; I am NOT spending money on this. I've got Sims 3, Sims 2 and Sims 1, why on earth would I need this?
