Let your Sims indulge in some pampering at the Perfect Balance Spa, where they’ll find familiar treatments like stone massages as well as new ways to treat themselves like manicures, pedicures, and facial masks. Wellness was already a skill, but with the new Zen Guru and Self-Care Specialist aspirations it is now a way of life. Sims can even earn money by guiding others down the path to mindfulness and do it all in style with new nail art! Child Sims can get in on the fun now too by participating in yoga and meditation.
The Spa Day refresh update will be available September 7 at 10 a.m. PT on Origin PC/Mac, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, and PlayStation®5.

I think this was honestly a pretty good pack to begin with, but I’m so glad they’re giving it a refresh. Some of these older packs are very dated. Now if they would do a dine out overhaul…

Back in the day expansions like get together came with huge worlds (by the sims 4 standards) I’d like to see worlds bumped up to having more than 3 neighborhoods with 5 lots. It even looks like there’s space for them on the maps the lots just aren’t there. Especially with stranger like. If I had to just pick one though I’d go with either stranger ville or the ROM world(s)

I’ve just recognized that they are actually best friends. Those five kids from the beginning are the adult sims at the end, and they are still friends. Lovely!

Totally agree. Restaurants and retail stores from Get To Work are basically unplayable. They don’t even necessarily require a ‘refresh,’ they just need MASSIVE bug fixes.

@reyn5821 sorry this is so late, but the person who did the trailer is Luumia. They used to create custom content and is much loved in the mod community, but was officially hired by EA and no longer makes CC :( But this is such an amazing display of talent from them!

Cool trailer.... My dream update would be being able to interact with babies: walk them in strollers, change them on changing tables, rock them to sleep in chairs, have them interact with children, carry them anywhere, take them to daycare (work at a daycare), etc....

Honestly right now I think this is the direction they need to be going in, game pack refreshes must be much quicker and easier to do, as well as if they’re done right it’s still *kind of* more new content, imagine if following this they redo Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat and Vampires (3 packs I myself think are lacking in some areas which could be easily resolved), it would go a long way either way though.

Definitely agree with Dine Out and Outdoor Retreat, but not really vampires. I think it still holds up to this day, but honestly what we really need is a Parenthood refresh with more things to do with the kids and teens. That pack let me down honestly, so happy for spa day though, gonna have to get that one now! :)

If they did open lifeguard career, posibility to run Your own resort, more lots in a world and one lot for diving and exploring underwater life... Basically what we had in the sims 3... @@lishan4657 Sims is sadly the only game where developer is gaining money for almost no content... Check out Genshin Impact, free updates every 6 weeks and free to play (you can buy premium currency but definitely don't have because it's easy to earn while playing) and here... Barely anything new and high prizes... But I wish for the future. I loved the sims 2&3 and the amount of content in those so maybe one day... Refresh is definitely a good first step

I think it would be better to add more kinds of self-own service businesses like in Sim 2 to the game, which is missing in Sims 4 which only have retail, vet clinic and restaurants.... Can we own and run a SPA center?~ A barber shop or run a hotel in the future?

Not only is this probably one of the best updates to the game in recent memory, but I think this is probably also the best trailer they've ever had for the Sims 4! No cliché voiceover or weird animated renderings that aren't actually part of the game, just fun visuals that show off the features and an upbeat song (though would've been dope if it was in simlish). As someone who stopped playing TS4 a while back, I can only hope that they continue this trend of wrapping up development on the game by going back and making much needed updates available to anyone with that content. Hopefully dine out is next because if any pack needs this treatment, it's dine out lol. I might actually use it if it doesn't take a whole day for Sims to go out for lunch.

I agree with the cliché voiceover thing, the vampires original trailer was like this(Snake in the grass was such a great song for it too) and it got me excited for content I wasnt even interested in. Conversely the voiceover on Dream Home Decorator made me NOT want a pack I was extremely excited for.

Can we take a moment to appreciate this trailer!? This is the most fun I’ve had watching a sims trailer in a while. The song choice and the editing were so awesome! My jaw dropped bc I was not expecting to hear Best Friend being played, but eventually I was dancing right along with the sims! The way they showcased the new features was so fun to watch. Nails!! Mani pedis! Kids not only being able to DO yoga, but also be yoga instructors!? Amazing!! I’m SO excited for this refresh!!!

What pack do you guys want to see updated next? I love Island Living and hope to see underwater scuba diving, like in the sims 3 island paradise days. I’d also like to see outdoor retreat because that’s another one of my favorite packs. Side note. Improved babies is a must and more swimmable places in all the worlds.

The whole trailer is a vibe, but honestly I’ve always thought the marketing team does amazing with the trailers lol. That’s never been the problem. But! Love the refresh and omg, we finally have nails in the game without cc. I heard it’s Ebonix designs and she deserves that! I can finally say good job to the Sims team and I hope they continue to refresh other older packs. I’ll be jamming to this trailer in the meantime 💃🏽

I say it depends on what your gameplay style. Everyone have different packs they like and dislike. I would get Tiny Living for sure. Was a stuff pack but was one of the best in my opinion and adds something different to the game. Also, Dream Home Decorator was a game changer with a lot of the build and buy items it came with. I like customizing the sofas.

I hope they refresh the Dr career. Imagine having to go to hospital to be treated or possibly die, not getting meds from a computer. Your Sims Dr can treat family, neighbors, if they don't, decrease friendships or they can die. Your Dr can make house calls for for bonus rewards...

I’m so excited!! Never expected them to give us that much more content for an existing pack. it’s always felt like whatever they did was now set in stone, and packs that could have been great but just fell a little bit short (like Island Living) were going to be like that until that pack was remade in The Sims 5. Sooo looking forward to other pack refreshes. They probably aren’t taking suggestions from the UKposts comment section, but I would love it if they added a skill tree to the mermaids in island living. For realm of magic I would live a bit more repercussions and a bit more friction to becoming the best, and for them to incorporate gameplay from the trailer, when they said that the 3 types of magic were holding the realm together. For Cats and Dogs, I really want an option to control the pets, and have cross-pack compatibility with cottage living, where you can have a bird in your house like in the sims 3 and you can hold the bird around with you. I would also love for Luxury Party Stuff to get a MASSIVE facelift, so it’s not kit priced at $10. I would love more active career options in Dine Out, being a waitor or a busboy.

@@sirwongalot7918 they’re giving us new build/buy objects, a new aspiration, a new trait (I think, don’t quote me on this). Kids can now do wellness stuff. They’ve also added manicures and pedicures along with painting your nails and face masks too

Honestly I feel they should just do this with their older packs in general, I'd rather have them do that before we get a new pack. I think a lot of the earlier stuff packs and game packs really need it to make them worth buying. However I think most of the expansion packs are pretty solid, so besides bug fixes I don't think they need any new content.

Not true, like add hotels and resorts to island living and house boats. Add buildable apartments to apartment living, add a lot more club icons to get togeather, add more snow based activities and martial arts etc.

I really hope they take a look at game and expansion packs too. I need more cross gameplay. For example spells that work with other packs for specific things. (In sims 1 you could do a spell that made you famous if you had Superstar installed. Or you could turn your dog/cat into a Sim if you had Sims Unleashed installed)

Yes, I miss the variety of spells from the Sims 1. Makin' Magic was amazing. Also miss the magic world from it and the houses sims could live in there. The Realm of Magic world is really lacking, there's not much to actually do. I miss the quests you could do in Makin' Magic.

Honestly, great job Sims team! The trailer is fun and I can't wait for my Sims to have nails! The High Maintenance trait and the Wellness aspirations/jobs sound fun too! New gameplay = new stories for me to play out! Normally, I'm very critical of EA and the Sims team, but I think refreshing old packs is a great way for them to drum up business since some players may now want to buy these packs, and it's also nice additional content for those of us that already have them.

Yeah, I didn't think the song would go that well with this kind of theme, but it proved me wrong. The way the trailer was put together, everything in this looks really cool and unique. But there is also a get-to-work trailer where the doctors act like strippers. That trailer was also very funny and unique. =D

I really hope you refresh all of the packs, but especially parenthood! Would love if you could add memories like before, make teens able to sneak out, have elders using cane etc. We just need a whole lot of refresh to make the gameplay just as good as in TS 1, 2 & 3! ❤️

Maybe! The Sims4Blogger tumblr posted a cached version of the Spa Day page with the new content. "Additionally, take your Wellness to the next level and aspire to be a Zen Guru or a Self-Care Specialist." Considering there's also a new aspiration ("And with the new aspiration, Sims seeking Inner Peace will want to pamper themselves more than ever."), I think the first is referring to a career. Fingers crossed!

This! I went to massage therapy school and was one month away from graduating but had to drop out due to extreme body pains. I love spa day because it made me feel closer to the very thing I love and had to leave behind. I really do hope they add massage therapist!
