I have seen reports that claim that the ship that ran aground, MV Primrose, was partly scavenged by scrap metal merchants from Port Blair immediately after the incident in which it ran aground. Supposedly there were both incidents of peaceful trade and strife between said scavengers and the islanders. However it's very difficult to find information about that incident. These scavengers, if they could be located, might possess knowledge that might be of interest to anthropologists, since they apparently had the most sustained contact with the Sentinelese.

If you're going to compare this to a game of Civilization, the Sentinelese People aren't even a Civ, They're a Barbarian Tribe on a 1 tile island in the middle of the ocean that has no useful resources.
