Living on North Sentinel Island, I can tell you: my neighbors don't like your damn helicopters. They first thought helicopters were some kind of giant bird, but I told them that they were boarded by foreigners and that they could simply shoot them out of the sky.

To add to this, cargo cults formed from this too. The US built these bases on islands in the pacific where people had little to no contact in the outside world. The soldiers would trade items with the native for local food and resources. These natives would all of the sudden got electricity, new foods, new clothing, etc. Then the war ended, the US packed up and left. Now all these luxuries were gone. No one returned to these islands for decades $74 when we did go back we saw something incredible.
