I don't know why I am writing this in third person. I am Gus. I wrote this. My brother is Sven Johnson, that guy's alright. I worked for the USPS. This is literally how they do you when you show up. You'd think they would have a map of the neighborhood/route to make it easy for new hires to do the job. Nope. Instead the entire organization relies on the lifers who have delivered routes for a decade and just pray the new guys will get up to speed eventually.

No wonder why its such a shit show. Everyday I'm more and more in favor of privatized mail service. The USPS can still exist but if I had the option to pay a private company to deliver my mail I would. Private companies have higher standards than the government these days.

@@DarkloveflyHow are those private pensions working out? Private internet? I'm so glad everyone has to pay for water, and schools. We should do the same for roads and oxygen. We need government services. DHL is a private business and still sucks. UPS recently had a giant worker strike over shitty conditions. Amazon piss bottles are becoming a serious issue. Private businesses aren't the solution to everything.

Its a tough job that requires a ton of daily walking. Its even more fun in the winter. Lots of people quit, and sometimes they send out inspectors to watch you deliver mail so they can write you up and fire you for someone else. If you still wanna try all I can say is good luck. I'd rather work for UPS or FEDEX. And even they can be slave drivers.

I was a CCA in NY(not the city thank fuck) and yeah it basically went “here’s your case, take a truck to deliver your parcels and fill relay boxes, come back, start the route” And yeah, no map, never even knew some towns existed until I went for work, about 3 apartment buildings where it’s requested you go to their doors and hand them the mail and they look at you like you killed the mailman, jacked his loot, and often refuse the mail for the first two days. Only had cops called on me twice. That’s excluding the time my gps routed me to the inmate drop off at a prison, THAT WAS A TIME.
