@keenanvandeusen
@keenanvandeusen 11 місяців тому
Something that could make it a game-changer is if it were a hydrogen car rather than electric. Hydrogen cars are better for the environment because they don't require lithium or cobalt, faster to refuel (same process as gas cars), and don't put a huge strain on power grids. Additionally, they're almost guaranteed clean energy whereas electric cars are only truly clean if the power grids they're charged from are not powered by fossil fuels such as coal power plants. But going hydrogen would require the implementation of a massive hydrogen infrastructure across the country which currently doesn't exist and hence, is unlikely for Apple.

I don’t know man I think that’s just the tech phobia that is starting to creep up your back. Everything changes and trends don’t trend forever. Teachers told us all that we won’t have calculators in our pockets. Look at us now. Now a calculator is not a $3500 device but the principle is still the same. We do not know where technology is going to take us but there is no use sitting on your butt and crying over how someone else is using technology.

This was my gut reaction too. But looking at it more rationally, as others have said, people made (and continue to make) the same comments about camcorders, and phones. It seems most are willing to accept the tradeoff if at the end of it you get a permanent memory. And with this you’d get a recording more vivid and intimate than anything you could get with any ordinary camcorder or phone. Regardless, I do hope that: A) the headset lets you record video without you having to wear it, and B) Future iPhones are given the ability to record 3d video that can be played back on the headset

I am a die hard Apple fan and think Tim Cook as done a great job. the one thing I don't like about him and I think quite a bit can relate, he's very stubborn when it comes to new features and innovation. I have asked about this feature for a long time, I've even sent Tim a letter to Apple Park. I'm sure again a lot of people can relate and express this frustration. On Apple Watch when you go to delete a conversation in messages you have to individually swipe each conversation to delete them. If you have a a lot of conversations this can be very time consuming. a better why needs to be added. on iPhones and iPads you can select and tap multiple to delete them or delete them all. Same goes Mac, you have to individually hold down "Control" and click. Again every conversation you have to do this to, this is also very time consuming. Apple does not pay attention to the little things like they use to anymore. Unfortunately, which is very sad.

This is a no brainer we all saw and know the dangers of nukes but we’re now at a point where they’re a hundred times more powerful that the two used against Japan. Don’t hate AI, embrace it, it’s here to stay.

There’s something so dystopian about the way the interview turns into a funny little guessing game at the end right after talking all these big scary AI things and Tim Cook giving half veiled answers

So you maybe missing the point here, by overthinking it, as it was just an interview, and not an interrogation, and all this speculative talk about AI wiping out humanity, just remember the good thing is that AI has already done and promises to do in the future. So, unless, and until you have evidence that AI has somehow become sentient, then I think you should maybe relax, have a cold one, and enjoy the ride, unless you just wanna add more stress to your life. Cheers 🥂

@@theodorehaskins3756 I agree with the whole chillax relax no stress view, but we don’t need AI to become sentient for this to be bad. For example I am a fan of movies and I work in movies, AI is threatening many of the jobs in the industry. I don’t want to watch something made entirely by an algorithm or computer.

Omg are people that use Apple products that in the dark You've been able to do all of these things on Android phones for years and years location apps knowing where your family is their battery life the speed they're driving at etc etc leaving video messages really these are revolutionary new things for Apple they've been on Android as long as I can remember.

Gee, i didn’t know Androids could do those things, I never hear any of my Android user friends say anything about it. Maybe Android makers don’t market this well, maybe they just keep on moving to the next feature / gimmick, maybe they dropped it, I don’t know why this isn’t more well known. Well, that and maybe it’s because Android is so fragmented in Android OS adoption that folks with older smartphones never can get the updates since most Android phones till very recently only had 2 years of updates, if that? I heard via Android distribution chart in May 2023, Android 13, out since Aug 2022, is only on 15% of all Androids, Android 12 only 16.3%, Android 11 about, 23% some 2.5 years after release. Android 10, now 3.5 years old is only on 18% of all Androids. Meanwhile, iOS 16, released in September 2022 is already at 87.5% adoption and iOS 15 9.65%, all other older iOS less than 3%. And iOS 15 supports back to the now 8 year old iPhone 6S series, while iOS 16 supports back to the 2017 6 year old iPhone X/8/8+, much better OS and feature support than ANY Android maker for years now.
