I give the Turbo Diesel Go-Kart top one last shot at the Top Speed Run by using the Omax Water Jet to make a 20 tooth drive gear which came out great, then I go to an airport with a long runway where I have plenty of space, gonWido Open Throttle and give the turbo diesel all it's got....For now....
Here's a link for Sherlock's SkyRanch Jet Club in Hobart Indiana. SkyRanchJetClub@Gmail.com
he's currently in the process of repairing the airport and bringing it up to par I'm pretty sure when it's all done it's going to be absolutely beautiful.
here's a link to my Website as well www.ShopWarpedPerception.com
thanks for watching!

Nah that was the smooth part, the middle of that runway is so bad it felt like it was going to rip the go-kart apart. I actually told Sherlock I wasn't going to do the shoot there that was going to leave but then as I was driving to my truck to load up the go-kart, I took the side and I'm like okay maybe this is doable but only in this spot. It doesn't show well on camera but the middle was completely unusable. Trust me I tried the middle first, I wanted it to be smooth.

You could easily fit the diesel engine with a larger turbo, increase the boost, and add fuel if needed. The redline figure, though close, is closer likely closer to 4,500 RPM instead of 3,700. This engine would likely allow the go-cart to reach 70 if it had more oxygen to create compression, which is the most important aspect of a diesel engine.

I think the gear ratio is way too low, making low rpm at high speed. It's good, but for turbocharged engine, especially diesel, it's got no boost. I think, high gear ratio at low speed and low gear ratio at high speed would be perfect (your bigger cvt kit). Since you already said that this is the last episode of turbo diesel go kart, I really appreciate that in fact you going this far in this episode.

yup that's the purpose of a continuously variable transmision. keep it in the power while still accelerating love the idea but the way he had it with that huge gear ratio it just never got a chance to get into its horsepower, lower back down to a 10 or 12 tooth drive sprocket and put a clutch that is set up for the engine on it... it will do 60.

@@WarpedPerception more fuel and I believe single cylinders can have problems when turbo charging. I didnt go in depth into your setup. The problem single cylinder engines have when turbo charging is the on/off delay of the exhaust stroke and "pulsing" the turbine wheel. This effect decreases with more cylinders because there is a more "constant" exhaust flow to spin/spool the turbo. To get more air out of your setup it could help to add an air capacitor/chamber in between the intake side of the engine and turbo.

That's what I said... Would be interesting to see the gains if he had used EFI on the diesel, but diesel tuning with EFI means an even smaller window of time for fuel injection timing vs in gasoline where you have a bigger window for spark advance since with gasoline you're not limited by compression ignition (diesels have a point of ignition based on optimal cylinder pressure)..I can understand trying to apply this to a small motor like the Kohler would be a ton of work, etc
