That sucks. Welcome to RV life. Bright side is that it didn’t happen on the road. There’s lots of “middle of nowhere” between Illinois and Colorado. Test it hard some more before you hit the road to see if anything else brakes. Easier to get it fixed by your mechanic than to find somebody on the road. Hang in there, it will all be worth it in the end!

What a bummer .... did they system not have a fuel filter that would trap the rust particles .. I thought they had a fuel filter in the tank and another before the engine ..??? Best of luck !!!

Happy birthday Mandy! I am just sick at hearing about your issues with the bus! Vehicles are meant to be driven but it’s still upsetting for you! Having the fuel tank completely filled could have helped with the corrosion within it. I sincerely hope that your problems will be resolved soon and in a favorable manner. May want to get opinions from other mechanics. As for tires, I would not replace all 6, either take 2 of the best and use them on the inside duals or get recapped tires for all. Truck fleets use recapped tires all the time to keep from having to buy new tires. Can’t imagine how disappointed you must be after all of your work , time and money. At least 2024 has to be better for you after this year. Best wishes!

If the price of the repair is very high, concider a second opinion, may end up saving you a lot of money. I would avoid big dealerships if possible.

It's sucky, but I believe in you guys and you can do this. When you're living in a skoolie bus living your life it will be all worth it. Maybe you guys could do a merchandise sale, something about the bus , do hats and shirts or something like that? Just idea

It can be a stressful thing but, here's what you do. Get your bus back to where you started. Figure out your mechanicals. Don't rush it. You can do this. Your gonna get a lot of "I told ya so's", so what to them. Get your bus back to a place where you can take a deep breath and go over the mechanicals with a fine tooth comb. Then start over. This is my biggest fear with my RV. Total engine failure or something similar. Luckily I have a good carrier in the pipefitters union. A few weeks of overtime work would help with most repairs. But I hate working hard to pay for repairs.

What about a go fund me account or something similar? There are other platforms like go fund me. Maybe your family and friends could do that for you?? Good luck you guys!!
