Art, I have never commented but, I am commenting on this video because I wanted you to know this. Your voice on the, “Bri From Scratch” videos of UKposts, is very pleasant to listen to. Your words flow with meaning and clarity. There is no hesitation in your speaking. Nor, is it filled with pauses of starts and stops. Every word that you say is clearly enunciated. As a retired teacher…..I recognize this wonderful lost art of speaking.

Your variety of skills amazes me, Art. Not only house building, but gardening, raising farm animals from field to table, cooking, fermenting, butchering, plumbing, shed moving, nursing, music making, and woodsman. I'm sure there's more, and your family is very blessed.

I never comment but I've been a watcher since before the pandemic. I am so happy for you Art! Taking on construction is such a smart choice for your recovery. I'm proud of you for making the right choices for you and your life and applaud your willingness to show up on the channel and share your story. If you made your own channel talking how to in the construction world I would so watch that. My interests are diy housebuilding on my own home and growing food so keep up the good work! There are so many people wanting to learn how to build their own home and your teaching approach was fabulous. I felt like I learned a lot from the talking about what you were up to while watching the work. And I watch a lot of homesteading/housebuilding channels. You've got a knack. Go Art! Whoop!

As a nurse myself, I can relate to wanting to do something else. Some days in this profession are mentally exhausting. There is great satisfaction in moving your body and physically seeing what you've accomplished.

My brother is a nurse, and I wish he would find something else. I love how his heart is with his patients, but he is losing himself. He has worked in many nursing homes so it has been especially taxing on his heart and soul. I am a teacher and have some taxing situations, but am fulfilled being able to love my students and give them something to look forward to. I wish he had something else like Art has.

@vickiemeisinger96323 місяці тому
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, Art, and I am glad to know you are doing a job you enjoy. It’s perfect for you because you already had so much building knowledge working on the farm and on your houses, etc.. My father was in construction and I enjoyed helping him!! Things changed so much from when he was doing construction to today requirements. We did cinderblock basements instead of pouring when he first began doing it, and I loved helping him with that process! He often told me he would prefer to work with me building the basement walls up then my younger brothers. He said I had an uncanny way of knowing what he needed before he even asked for it and had it ready and that’s so important especially when you’re working with cement!! I always wanted to please him, and as a result of working with him and learning what I did, when I went to college the first time, my major was architecture. This day I love Housing and I thoroughly enjoyed your video and understood everything you talked about. I appreciate you taking your time to make the video.❣️❣️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I do have one question…... And I almost hesitate to ask it because I saw you carrying in levels when you were carrying in your tools yet, I never saw you guys using a level on your walls as you built them or as you stood them. It was just because it wasn’t captured on the camera or do you have a different technique that levels the walls… I have seen some new devices advertised.

I love trusses, hubby and I used them on our huge addition, which allowed us to have a lower level 24 x 32 completely free of load bearing walls. And our main floor is totally open. They also allow plumbing, heating, and electric to run without cutting holes in the beams. And easy access to same. There is a post by the stair opening. I've been involved in house building since I was old enough to fetch and carry and hand nails to dad, around 1950. ❤😊
