Not really on the VPN side. VPN was designed for you to securely connect to other networks as if you were there, like to connect to work from home. But it quickly became an alternative to "hide" activity, and access data on other countries, that's not available on yours, all for a profit of course.

Also, a VPN server or "provider" can very well secretly keep track of all users, even if they say they don't. Trust me, a VPN is not as secure as people think, as trackers can just wait for you at the end of the tunnel

I think that blocking Facebook or any other website whatsoever is just nuisance. People will always find a way. Whether that be a mobile network or something else. Also if any external website / service becomes an issue in productivity wise I think blocking them won't really fix the issue and the problem lies somewhere deeper in company culture.

Thats incorrect. Reverse proxies or any other proxies dont encrypt connections like VPNs

Proxy has ability to monitor what websites you used and for how long etc which is how companies see if employees are on Facebook all day. Proxy hides your public ip and sends out theirs and has ability to do activity logging. "you also said that it gives privacy but later you said that it does not encrypt data so everything can be traced by hacker/gov" answer: again proxy hides your public device ip with its own so website etc thinks its the proxy checking it out not you and by encryption means that data can be captured by middle man and seen with plaintext as its not encrypted. So does it make sense to go for proxy server as private user? Or private person should only go for vpn? VPN, Proxy server are good for companies or large organizations for help speed look ups of websites since proxy saves cache of websites and also has activity logging.

True. It's also good idea to watch Tom Scott's VPN video on YT. You really don't need VPN, unless you do questionable stuff.

@@Juzimaster Well, a vpn is useful if you want to hide your location, but that encryption thing isn't as useful if the website which you are going through is already encrypted (https websites), but a double encryption is always great.

btw, the vpn providers can keep logs of your data like your IP address, so it isn't as private as the vpn providers tell you.
