Thanks again Nanc... The grandson of the logger says he may have got it wrong...I bet not. Sounds like he idolized his grandparents....I'm sure he was spot on....loved the part where he talked about grandma packing him a suprise lunch every day. I'm 61 and remember my mum doing the same 4 my dad...thankyou to all that take time to send stories and you Nanc for taking time to put it all together. 😊👌👍💯✌

But, even back in the middle 50s, Stanley was making there stainless steel thermos in Nashville Tennessee. I have mine from 1997, with a leather ground case that it slides in. And the top of it has a zipper that unzips so that the top of the thermos is open. You can open and pour coffee out of it and the rest of the thermos stays down inside the leather sleeve. eBay right now has several thermos from the 80s & 90s up to about 2003. The Stanley thermos that you get today is absolutely nothing like the ones that was made here in America. To prove my point I’ve had many people over the years pick up my thermos then they pick up their thermos and their other hand. So they are holding both. And right off the bat every one of them always says something like this. “MYYYYYYY GOD. Your thermos is so much heavier than mine. The difference in the weight is absolutely unbelievable!!” And that, Is the reason the ones that was made here was so much better, because they keep your coffee so much hotter, for so much longer. Below is a small part from the historical timeline of the company. “In 2002, Stanley was purchased by Seattle, WA based Pacific Market International (PMI). Stanley's manufacturing facilities were then moved to China.” And that is when they screwed up!!! To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, type this in, in the search-bar on EBay. You will see the leather case with a “Stanley by Aladdin.” when you look on the bottom of these thermos, you will see these words of the ones that were still manufactured in Nashville Tennessee. Remember, it was bought out in 2002 and was moved over-seas. “Stanley, by Aladdin. “In 1965, Aladdin acquired the Universal Stanley Division of the J. B. Williams Company, which made the Stanley thermos bottle in Nashville, Tennessee. All of Stanley's operations were moved to Nashville and by 1966 the first Aladdin Stanley bottles were shipped. Here is where they screwed up. “One of Stanley’s key innovations was Char-Vac™, where charcoal dust was packed between two stainless steel walls while the vacuum insulation was created. This method made the bottles tougher and more resilient, albeit heavier and bulkier. Stanleys from the time of Char-Vac™ were much coveted and are still in use to this day, with some Stanley fanatics still obsessed with the decades old bottles they bought as teenagers. Stanley discontinued use of Char-Vac™ in 2009, opting instead to thicken the outer steel wall. This resulted in a bottle that was significantly lighter weight and built to the same industry- leading specs.” Doing away with the “Char-Vac” system ruined them. It did. Here is Stanley’s website. www.stanley1913.com/blogs/my-stanley/old-stanley-vs-new-stanley-whats-really-changed-in-the-unbreakable-bottle (I hope this helps you, and helps everyone else out too. Please let me know. )

Oops, I posted this comment accidently in the main comment area but it was intended to be a response to your post so I'll pasted it below and try to delete the one in the main comments. NO FAIR!!! Posting comments about your fabulous dinners where they can be seen before we can even view the video! Hahaha 🤣👍 1st thing I did as soon as I got in to watch Nance's latest video release was to HIT the like button! 2nd thing I did, because your comment was visible while I hit the like button so I had to come here because I couldn't resist telling you how good that dinner sounds right now!!!! But, before I could even type my comment I read Nance's reply saying they ate same thing!!!! Now I'm really jealous!!! I just sat down to watch this before cooking dinner as I'm starving! My wife offered to cook something to eat but I didn't want to trouble her with fixing something just for me, (we have to eat different things mostly due to a medical condition I have), so now before I can even hit play, which had been reduced to 3rd on my list due to all the above, I'm going to need to warm up my most caring and considerate "loving husband" voice to tell her "honey, do you remember asking me if you'd like me to cook dinner for you, and I told you thanks but no? You don't have to do that just for me, (her shows on and she's already had dinner.) Is that option still on the table? And in my mind I'm hearing her think, "yes dear, that while the option is still on the table, your dinner won't be, because there's not room for both..." I better just watch the video now, then go cook potatoes again and be happy I get to watch this video and have a happy wife!!! 😆 I hope you and your lucky mate enjoyed your wonderful dinners ladies!!!! Salute!

My father and grandfather had a sawmill in Washington, my dad was a tree topper, we often had bear meat, I liked it, smoked, stewed, or fried. I had a glass thermos when I was a child in the 50's and 60's. All to often it would get broken, the glass was very fragile.

Hi Ms. Nance! It's been awhile since I've been able to listen to you tell us these AWESOME ENCOUNTER STORIES!! ALL of the stories were GREAT!! The last one about the grandpa seeing the gray one in the tops of the trees... Nance, I truly don't know if I would have made it through that one. Having to do all that running and THEN realizing that thing was in the treetops above me!!! Yeppers, heart attack waiting to happen!!! I really appreciate that you do this for us. Bringing these AMAZING STORIES to us every week!!! Thank You So Very Much for doing that!!! Also, I want to thank the people who take the time to write/type their stories and sending them to you for you to be able to share them with us!!! And I agree with the youngman about recording things with your loved ones, OR in my case, keeping something that you might not think is important like a voicemail. I have the very last voicemail my Dad left me on my answering machine. It was one he left me about 3-3 1/2 months before he passed away. That was in 2008. I listen to it from time to time just so I can hear his voice. I just wish I had something from my Mama. Ms. Nance, Take Care, Be Careful and Stay Safe out there!!! I was born in 1954. When I took a thermos to school filled with hot chocolate, my Mom told me not to drop it, because it was lined with glass. That is the only type of thermos available until the 1970s. I’ve dropped a couple of them, and when that happens the glass inside rattles, your drink is ruined, and it’s time for another thermos. Grandpa the lumberjack was correct. There was such a thing as a glass thermos in 1953; but only on the inside. They were metal on the outside and top.

I know just how the person who wishes they had recorded their grandpa’s stories feels. I was helping care for my grandfather who was in his 80’s at the time and born in 1903, when one day we sat at the dining table while he told me about his life on the farm in North Carolina, his family’s move by train from there to South Georgia, and the restaurant he and my grandmother ran during World War II and how the troops came there to eat while being transported. He remembered things in such vivid detail, including the price of shrimp, the stories of his cooks and waitresses, and so much more. This was in the late 80’s, so no cell phones, nor did I have any other recorder. But it was so interesting, and the story of that side of my family. I so wish I had that afternoon recorded to share with my family. My mother died about 3 years ago at age 93, and I realized when she was gone there were so many things I wished I had asked her. Yes, record your elders if they have interesting stories like this woman and my granddaddy, and think about things you won’t be able to ask when people are gone, and ask those questions. Thanks for this excellent story.

Recording them is an awesome idea to capture their voice. My oldest sister was legally blind. She & I exchanged audio letters on cassette tapes when it was cheaper to mail them than call each other. She passed a few years ago. I had forgotten about the treasureI have in my desk till I wrote that! WOW & how I've missed Claudette's voice in my ear! But, even if you don't have the capability to record them audibly - pen & paper work well! Atleast you have a historical record of their life. You may need to write them down as they tell you & encourage the whole family to do so. I urged my mom to write her thoughts & memories when she complained of being lonely with no one to talk to after my dad passed. Of course, my older sister & BIL was with her every day & 3 bros called her every day when they got cells. I called her atleast once a week. I sent her a beautiful journal & sent her mini themed journals to pass quiet moments & capture her impressions. She loved the idea, stickers & pockets & envelopes for souvenirs, suggestion pages to get her to write like about the beaches in HI & tucked little surprises for her to find & the games I made up like I Spy within the little jounal for her to take on trips. Days blur together on a trip - it was basically to keep her memory fresh & clear. She always sent me a wonderful pkg of souvenirs & I heard her impressions & stories! The little books only helped pass the flight or ride. She got pleasure out of those minis, & it was fun doing them, but she never wrote a word in any journal I gave her. God Bless Her!

I spent 4 months in north Texas from November to March and I thought that I would freeze to death. But Texas didn't hold a candle to Ohio in 78. That is until this year when Texas froze. Dogman travels tree to tree? Holy Cow! I'd thought they'd be ground dwellers without opposing thumbs. Once, I saw a BF swing down from the top of a big billboard along the side of a hwy. It was nestled in next to a hill with a cut-thru for the road I was on. It swung down & around, gripping the top & sides of the sign & dropped down behind it & out of sight. Have you seen a Dogman? IDK anything about the differences between these 2 creatures. I picture a werewolf-type creature. I'd think a DM encounter would make me even more leary of big dogs. I've seen 2 BF from a distant that resembled chimpanzees. One that had smooth face of a young man. That is the closest observation I had of the face. I've not been to a zoo & seen apes or monkeys since BF became a reality to me. I have questioned my ability to look at them the same as before & how I might react. Big dogs are a very common & so are often vicious. IDK, anything about the nature of DM, except they're aggressive. I've also heard of them running away suddenly after an aggressive display. The DM sounds like a terror of its own. If I saw one - I'd be freaking jumping out of my skin every time I heard the growling & barking of a dog inside a fence. DM are every where? That's a damn terrifying thought!

Luke- was that near Prairie du Rocher, IL? Saw what I think were 2 Bigfoot near pond at quarry there in 1976 just after flood 1976 (may or June). Crawdads we’re all over the place-bulldozers had to keep clearing the roads and sides were 3’ high. They were just starting to really stink. Dad was going down short road to a pond that had several large trees shading it (hot and sticky out) and saw 2 really big figures squatting next to pond looked like they were picking up the crawdads and eating them raw-whole thing. I guess dad figured out what it was cause he did a quick turn around and we went to the other side of the area

All the loggers that I've ever met and talk to said, they all know that bigfoot it real and out there. And would talk about it quick. I guess, back then. They were in denial. Lol! Great true story!

From the last story, where he describes the colour and how it moved through the trees, makes me think it may be possible that perhaps bigfoots and gorillas have mated. There have been escaped gorillas from zoos & traveling shows over the years so this may be possible. Anyway, interesting video. Ty.

One of my tongue slips as a kid: I asked my Dad what POTTIED MEAT was.. His reply "Nobody knows, girl,-- and nobody knows who POTTIED in it, either. Ha ha ha ". My family called it POTTIED MEAT from then on to tease me. True story !. Guess what I got in my lunch after that ? Ironic.

I’m sure you were uncomfortable with the window open at 90+ degrees. They make air conditioning now and days just shut your windows turn that heater thing to cool and set it to 75 degrees and you’re good.

The logger from 1953 had a sighting of the ellusive dogman or wolfman. Bigfoots do not climb trees, they may hide behind them but not the tree hopping behavior of that one seen by logger. Bigfoots are also browns, reds, and black colored, but never gray in color. The dogman or wolfman are grey in color and love confrontation, whereby bigfoots generally shy away from confrontation except in groups of two or more as heard from many sightings and encounters. The old man saw a dogman not bigfoot.

I disregard anything the BFRO has to say. These things aren't your friendly forest giant. When you get water melon sized rocks hurled at you, or logs 12 inches in diameter and 7 feet long flung at you, you better believe they are dangerous. Food for thought... you only know its a bluff charge after you survive it!

Ask yourself one question, and then send an email or text to your local costume store. If these are all very expensive costumes, worn by seven foot actors, who is making them and hiring them out? Not one actor has ever come forward and said he was hired. So, ask a costume store to send you a photo of their most expensive sasquatch suit. The truth will be in your in box.
