4 роки томуIf you’re in any kind of situation in your life where you feel you are limited in what you can control, you may not be as chained to your circumstances as you think. Fr. Mike offers encouragement, saying you can still make interior decisions and have an effect on your circumstances to some extent. You still have agency.
Even though you may not be able to change everything you want, you can change your heart. Resentment and bitterness can prevent a great deal of needed change, so if they’re in your heart start by surrendering them to the Lord. This will give you internal freedom similar to what Jesus had when he was suffering on the Cross.
Give your circumstances to the Lord and put them under his dominion. This may lead to more pain, but it’s better than staying bitter because if we remain in that bitterness our hearts will become numb and incapable of love.

Today's gospel was about not worrying about clothes, food and other earthly things as these are what the pagans worry about... But instead, put your eyes and heart on heaven and heavenly treasures.... It's a great reminder that one day, this earth and it's worries won't matter anymore ... And that we must keep our eyes on the goal. Keep our eyes the the prize... Heaven

This video is a God send right now. I feel so lost, anxious and don’t know how to get myself out of the situation I have created due to my choices. I regret so many decisions I have made. I’m praying Jesus helps me not to become discouraged or bitter and gives me faith and strength to continue and show me the way back to Him. Hey. I really need someone to pray for me. It all started out with a few terrible thoughts that I got about God. Those thoughts weren't me though. Then it soon escalated into more and more thoughts and now I can't stop having these bad thoughts. My mind is going crazy and out of control and I cannot stop these thoughts. I've been praying every single time I get these thoughts and some reason I still get them. I really need someone to pray for me so I can stop getting these terrible thoughts.

You are simply in a spiritual warfare as all of God's chosen are. You are protected by our Lord, kept under the Holy Mother's mantle and our prayers. Those thoughts are not yours but of the serpent which Mary holds under her heel. You will be fine.

Last 2 years were a tear down disaster affecting every area of my life . It’s almost surreal, but when I came out I see there was no one thing I cold do but go through. The only thing now is I refuse to ever get that sad and discouraged . Do t take things so hard that you actually discourage your own heart. I offer it up now , life gets rough . We all have things no one can change. Hold tight and return to yourself and with God you will.come though.

I have got so much out of these videos, Fr. Mike god bless you and thank you for your wise and comforting words. My life nose dived over last winter, I suffered badly mentally, physically, emotionally and socially and felt alone coming close to suicide twice. I asked for Gods help, I spent some of my last money on an audio bible and listen to it when ever I feel down. It took a while for me to get clarity but i know I am never alone, never have been. I know from very recent events God and Jesus have supported me and been with me in a very real way, an almost physical presence. God bless you all

It is normal for a human being to feel bitter or resentment. But it is not good to dwell on it. On the onset of resentment, is the moment you have to breath deeply and get yourself together. Remember to have a good amount of inhales and exhales and remove those bad thoughts from your mind. Peace!

Exactly what i need today. I have been praying daily for over a year to forgive someone who did me an immense harm. I have begun to think that i will die with this huge resentment and bitterness on my soul. That really frightens me, so i buckled down on praying for the strength to forgive. Father Mike, you have opened a door for me that i never realized was there. Starting right this minute, i will place my bitterness at the feet of the crucified Jesus, and ask Him for help. Whew ! As someone who feels like he is not in control and is overwhelmed, I am still not convinced by this video. There is bitterness in my heart, but I cannot pull myself out of it, and any amount of praying doesn't help either. I know I have agency, but I don't know what action(s) I could do to help myself.

If you are Catholic, try going to Holy Mass and going to confession, it really helps, dont stop praying, my prayers are wirh you, praying the rosary and asking the blessed Mother to guide you to her son Our Lord Jesus Christ who loves us soo very much, he waits for us, as a father waits for his child.

Al-Anon’s Twelve Steps offer some relief for people who have been affected by other people’s crummy behavior. The key is to believe there’s a power outside oneself that one can turn to for strength. Another strengthening idea that I learned outside Al-Anon (and definitely outside Catholicism) is that the laws of the universe work the same for EVERYONE and you are entitled to benefit from them too. Im not taking any advice to accept things as they are, and that has helped me a lot. Good luck, pilgrim.

I'm struggling so much with stuff thats happened. I know I should offer the pain to Lord Jesus. Why aren't I doing that? Why am I turning to things that are unhealthy and unholy to escape the pain. I don't want to. I don't want this life, I want a life with God. Yet I can't relinquish control of my pain to Him. I want to, I just seem incapable. Thank you for these videos. They get me through the hardest days. Even if I struggle to do what they say, they give me something to aspire to be and to pray for.

I really like this. I like to think we have at least some aspect of free will in even the worst situations. Interiorly especially. It seems in our modern/postmodern setting people are always looking to externals without realizing that freedom begins (and ends) within. External things are good and useful and ought to be utilized, but we must recognize also the strength we have within and augment that most of all. We need to find that rock within us which can carry us through the tough times when external comforts are lacking.
