He never denied that she’s a catch. He was asked “How did you pull her?” That insinuates that he pursued her, which they both acknowledge is not the case. She pursued him. I don’t hear anything that he said as disrespectful. In fact, the question he was asked was a bit disrespectful because it suggested that he is below her and inherently is unworthy of mutuality in within the relationship. I think people projected their own hang ups onto this couple. If he didn’t know who Simone Biles was, then so be it. Many people complaining probably couldn’t name their U.S. representative or their senator. Plenty people don’t know about someone who others see as exceptionally influential and significant.
