In the pilot episodes description it states that all the humans are there because they hate themselves and gooseworx saying that Jax should be there the most probably is supposed to mean that he hates himself the most and this can further be confirmed by the fact that gooseworx said that jax had a horrible mental state so my guess is that he playing pranks to keep not only the other circus members but also HIMSELF from abstracting leading to a very complex personality

if i had to guess who would abstract in episode 2 i dont think it will be any of the circus members but in fact the npc's of the episode with pomni having her mental break down she tells the npc's this is a vr world and they're not real which would cause them to abstract (if its even possible)
