The thing is: You want to put big heals out during the totem is active to fill it good, but u dont want to top everybody with those big heals because then the CB Totem would be senseless. :D

What I'm looking for when it comes to a spell that does dmg and healing, Rsham already had 2 of them and I do not understand why Blizzard didn't put them as options after Shadowlands, it's Chain Harvest and Vesp Totem. 1 of those 2 abilities alone would solve a lot of what is problematic about Rsham dmg and healing. I dislike PW, didn't play it much in Shadowlands either because Chain Harvest just felt WAY better to press and Vesper totem was HUGE with covenant leggo. Bring back either 1 of those 2 abilities and Rsham becomes way more viable in higher keys.

The lack of a proper external is the biggest thing holding the spec back right now in my opinion. I feel like I can heal anything on this class except for insane single target damage, which is very high this season. All 3 of those most represented healers have strong externals on low cooldowns.

I agree, I feel that Resto Shaman needs the Disc Priest treatment. Less button bloat and streamlined gameplay.

Nice video. I kinda agree with most things you say but to be honest, I've noticed that the riptide - healing stream totem build is very good for M+. Haven't really run into issues at 27 yet so it's definitely a viable spec and you will basically never go oom. You just use 0 chain heals. I have to add tho, I've been gearing up a Druid this week and I'm probably just switching anyway. The Druid healing is so much more easy and reliable and you have defensives to spare xD It's a shame tho, I really love playing Shaman.

I've had to macro my spells together to get rid of button bloat chain heal/lighting, riptide/flame shock,lava bursts /healing surge

It's def a struggle doing damage and healing as a rdruid, constantly having to switch forms can be a lot

Really cool video, I agree with all the points. In shadowlands it was the most fun ive had with shaman, vesper totem fixed the DMG rotation and also helped with burst healing. Also the tier that gave a 100% effectiveness chain heal when dropping CB really helped with those heavy bursty moments without much setup. Ngl shammy was super strong back then. They then removed vesper and we were left with PW which is not bad, but requires a lot of setup, boring gameplay and provides almost no dmg, also then we have a mediocre set, talents like downpour or even wellspring worked great and they nerd those to the ground. Seems they took the wrong path with shaman, such a shame since it was going in a good direction.

I run healing stream in keys (like 16s) cause sometimes cloud burst doesnt get the use when packs die fast and its another thing to track. I like it cause it keeps thing steady in the background and then from there I can just focus on healing. Makes it a lot easier to keep the group around 3qtr health and then hit with a riptide to keep steady and saves mana.

I feel like Shaman already has a lot of easy passive ways of healing small incidental damage in dungeons. I think there are too many situations where not going cloudburst just isnt viable in higher keys/aoe burst windows.

The problem with this is Blizzard nerfed healing stream into not being a smart heal anymore, which means it may go into someone at max hp and overheal rather than someone that needs it.

Just for info: why don't u take the weapon buff on the right tree? For passive inc healings is amazing (give u 2 - 5% more healings)

Cloudburst may be better, but it's clunky to use in dungeons.

You said this isn't the RS build for high keys, but I believe high keys are out of reach for RS this season anyway.

For raid I don’t know if I would ever recommend it. You can watch your timers to pre plan your “totem savings account”, then boom. BUT, in a 5 man… healing stream will definitely allow us to dps in some currency farming in mid level keys. Our dps can be pretty insane as heals go if we get the time.

I'm new to DF shaman. I'm curious why we don't use earthen wall or stone skin totems in any of the builds I've seen online? a short CD DR seems like it would be super worth

Tip: you can get Creation Core under Totemic Recall and with that you can drop 4 x HST at the same time for some "oh shit" moments, it does wonders !

With Living Stream builds, it's definitely worth picking up Call of the Elements or Creation Core (vs. more burst profiles); the extra totems is insane value. Stoneskin is also massive, as is Thundershock, which has got to be one of our largest HPS buttons in higher keys (preventing spellcasts with knockups). I think u can even drop Healing Wave and the whole Primordial Wave kit, never chain heal, and just pick up both DRE and Asc; if you are good with Projection, EWT also is excellent for this sort of build (esp. with Call of the Elements) since u can just move your Earthen Wall and not lose value in keys. All we need to cast are HST, Riptide, and Surge to triage, keeping Earthshield up ofc. Really fun and lets us cast a ton of Chain Lightning/Acid Rain. Thanks for the vid!

Zuco did a good build with healing totem and with our set bonus he got deep roots and it works about 60% of the healing shaman do is just passive healing

I've been running with a similar build the last weeks. It uses healing stream totem and riptide and you basically never cast chain heal. Long time player but new to resto shaman, and something important I've picked up in my research is that the aoe burst of healing from CB comes out of your character, not wherever the totem happens to be.

Cloudburst is obviously the go to over healing stream totem if you can be proactive and optimise use during AOE damage however with so much else to focus on this season and only pugging I find healing stream far more reliable. When you time it right the healing numbers can be insane but if you’re just a few seconds late it’s wasted.
