When I had a Zappi installed, as householder, I ran an Ethernet cable to the point where the Zappi would be installed. Hard wired is ALWAYS way more reliable!

Aren't you supposed to mount a fused separator between the soler panels and the SPD so that in case of a overcurent the SPD blows the fuse and stops the flow of current?

Too many batteries becomes the law of diminishing returns... Its all about how much amperage your inverter and battery can out put in a given time. Take LVL byd batteries thery can take a 400amp charge ! And you can get a victron setup to match that charge rate. Means you can ram enough power in during low night rates. Also if you use telsa ppwer.walls innoff grid mode...in small print it invalidates the warrenty i wqs told by anotjer battery manufacturer..not.cjexk to see thats true.😮 Been there had the install t shirt😂

hate it or love it mate, you got no right to complain because you could easily be doing new commercial installs but you choose to do fault finding in old homes. You're like a smoker complaining about lung cancer. You reap what you sow.

full ring final circuit. No surprise there. If it were up to me, I'd condemn every single house in uk with that crap, no exceptions.

you did the right thing by not accepting money. 100%. Don't be liable. Rewire the whole thing, do it by the code, legally. Stop joking around with electricity, people die, house fires, people don't take electrics seriously.
@llVIU
@llVIU День тому
-3000 pounds rewire -"that's not something we can do" oh well I guess we're just allowing people to have a house that can kill people then. So when can I grab my gun and start shooting around irresponsibly just because "sorry I'm too poor"? What if these idiots allowed a tennant to live there? What if this house is right next to another house, and it catches fire? What if they have guests over and they get an electric shock? What if they have a child? I guess "not dying" is off the table when you don't have the money. They certainly seemed to have the money for all that other junk they've been hoarding over the years.

I use Home assistant alongside my GivEnergy system the main addons are GivTCP to bring the GivEnergy data and control into home assistant and Predbat which does all the battery prediction work outlined in this video.

I'm a spark but don't know enough about solar to install it - thinking of doing a solar course got sparks. What do you think of the American Market of people doing DIY solar themselves?? There are a few videos online and know someone who had done a solar set up but wants me to check it out, which I'm very uncomfortable doing?

Microinverters are great - probably the best method of power conversation - but Enphase has power output limitations (see below) compared to other microinverters. So even if you are using bifacial panels, your limiting factor is the microinverter! Please try and be clear and transparent with your viewers. IQ8MC: 325W max AC output IQ8AC: 360W max AC output IQ8HC: 380W max AC output For example, if using IQ8MC microinverters with 435W solar panels, the max AC output would be limited to 325W per panel, even though the panel is rated higher!

Unfortunately some extension leads do get hot...why? Cheap extension leads Resistive loads like fan heaters will get the cable warm. Alot of people forgetting the old extension reel not fully unwound and gettting dangerously hot. That is not about over load sure you have 13amps but most outlets dint like being run at 13amps for long period of time...dont belive me? Try plugging in a fan heater or cooker into a plug socket. Over time the pins of the 13amp plug get very hot and start to make the outlet go brown and start to burn. This video in my mind is more about heat dissipation.... Yes sure some modern extension reels have a thermal trip out ....but some dont and if its still coiled up will potentially cause a fire!
@bramcoteelectrical1088
@bramcoteelectrical1088 2 дні тому
extension leads do get warm with resistive loads and extension lead reels without thermal trips. 10amp.max long time running 13amp loads will make the lead build up thermally

@artisanelectrics as a newbie I cannot tell you how useful I’m finding your videos. Can I ask why you chose to use a wago box rather than wiring the 3 core into the boiler? Presumably because of your “not a heating engineer” comment?

I know you follow rules that is existing but do you check that each solar and battery system have a smoke alarm DIRECTLY above the system and also fireproof board above the units in the ceiling? Yes i know solar edge cuts power when it looses connection with the inverter or it sees an arc fault but still good to go beyond the code for fire resistance. I also have an failed solar edge inverter that absolutely had a large flame and explosive short circuit innside it but it was far from spreading to anything else as the cabinet itself never melted, only the circuit boards before the panels shut down I have solar edge system in my home and concider to have battery backup some day, and thinking making a totally fireproof cabinet for the whole system that in case of fire closes innside ventilation and have a 100mm pressure releif steel pipe to the outside so in case of complete meltdown it will just spit out all flame and smoke to the outside. I want the inverter and battery innside because of all inefficiency heating to go innside my home and for it to never see moisture but have the safety of an outdoor mount 😅 never expect that to be done by anyone else 😂
