Best one yet. I’m watched hundreds. I’m doing the same thing except my kitchen is very small just and sink and a bit of counter. Behind that is a full size bed with storage and a garage. I’m doing a jack knife bed with seatbelts for the kids too.

Hey man! For our final project for high school, we are going to build a bus, but have no where to start. I have binge watched most of your videos and the documentary (loved it) and i was wondering if you have any tips for us! We have a reasonably large budget so money is not necessarily an issue. Our travel plan is probably here (colorado) to california where i have family, drop off a friend for college, travel up the coast, travel into canada and vancouver, then drive back into the states and across the country because all of us are taking a gap year to get money for college and stuff. Right now, we have about 2 years to work on this project, but that may vary depending on our future. Sorry about the long comment! Love the videos! Peace

You are better off towing than building a deck that large.
@madjeepernh68346 років тому
Cool bus.... But...........that deck......is rediculousely loooooong. Too much overhang.
@PatrickBaptist5 років тому
The 4x4 part is quite awesome, the 6.5 just kills it. Brand bias aside that is a terrible engine, especially with a load.
@McCurtainCounty8885 років тому
Was way too much weight on rear when loaded with toys, it will drive squirrelly as hell Accident waiting to happen.

Why would someone buy a half-ass hippie bus when they can buy a nicer RV that's professionally built and cost about the same as what you would be asking?
@baloneyjusticecheezedog6 років тому
Well there is not much difference between a bus or a RV towards the end of the build... The big difference is a bus interior space is smaller but made out of metal where as most RV frames where made out of wood, but had a larger interior space. A bus will be slightly more gas efficient because it was designed to move people from place to place, while a RV will give up some of its efficiency because its assumed the owner will want to stop and live out of it more then travel with. In a RV body or the living quarters, there is almost no stamped parts in the frame. Everything is built to be one off customization with the actual exterior dimensions varying specifically to how the interior space was set up. This done vary specifically because RV makers need to be able to change there designs from year to year because the chassis manufacture will change something underneath the body making it necessary to move stuff around because of this change. On top of that people have specific ideas how the inside of the RV should be set up, and want to custom order there RV how they want it. As such almost all the RVs you see that are more squared off, or able to be ordered in a great deal of custom options are usually made out of a wood frame... these are the cheapest of RV and usually the ones you see brand new for 60,000 dollar in one year but loose half there value a year later. and then after a few years are basically... worthless. They are extremely high maintenance and you need to be careful with them since they are just like houses on wheels. they are vary susceptible to water damage too, and you need be vary proactive about taking care of them.. but if you are, they will be vary comfortable homes. RVs also by the fact they are not a house, or a car, are not vary well regulated. The makers can do anything that does not fall apart on its own while traveling.. but otherwise free to fallow only the most basic of automotive rules and free to use all sorts of questionable building practices that no single body regulating housing standards or automotive standards would endorse. this is why you can use a untreated wood frame sustainable to water, and mold damage. A bus built by a private owner is a little easier to take care of, provided the owner was not built there bus out too poorly, it will be much easier to take care of the bus, and traveling with it will be much easier knowing the frame is metal.. Even brand new wood frame RVs will actually sway around a bit more then a buss would. the only thing you need to worry about with the bus is keeping the inside a little warmer the the outside so water does not condense on exposed interior metal surfaces. (and a bus has alot of those. But all of this is assuming you buy the bus yourself and convert it. I would treat this bus with the same level of contempt I would show for a shady RV being sold at a RV lot. Everything else about Buses and RV are surprisingly similar. This is because both tend to be based off the same type of chassis, a medium duty truck or van frames. In most cases its because the bus and RV makers buy the same chassis from Big truck and van frame manufactures to make buses and RVs....In the really common types of Medium duty truck and frames you can find parts not only for RVs and buses, but also delivery vans, commercial trucks, and ambulances. Also, I am not a ford guy, but that is one ford I would buy just because I know I could get parts for it so easily and cheaply. So to answer you question, no you should not spend 25000 dollar on this, but you should also not spend that much on a used RV. RVs are terrible, and suffer much worse problems as they get older because they are bigger, even less well built, and susceptible to mold and water damage. unless you have a RV expect with you while purchasing a used RV or converted bus... DON'T buy a USED RV or CONVERTED BUS. Its bound to be horrible.

Are you serious? Toxic off gassing besides living in mass production...no thanks.
