Transparent screens have been in slot machines for years (stacked on top of each other even, for a 3d effect). It looks neat but I don't see why I'd want one in my house.

Since it's clear you could line MULTIPLE clear TVs in front of each other, to keep up on all your shows at once. I love modern technology.

This is funny. The product is massively valid though. Billboards, advertisement panels, medical and industrial devices, etc... They market it for home user as well, just because they know there are enough rich tools, who would buy something useless, just because it looks fancy and is expensive.

The only TV innovation that actually exited me in a while is the Samsung that becomes a painting or can actually match your wallpaper so the tv becomes almost invisible on the wall

I actually don’t think a transparent TV is a bad idea given the right use-case. I could see it replacing a large window assuming the TV is able to make itself opaque.

This tech is more focused toward industry and business application. Though I can see this being useful for motorbike helmets using this for heads up display. That's probably why Samsung didn't state this as TV display but just it proper description.

I wanted to understand the purpose of the existence of the transparent screen. I bought one. I placed it where my TV was, With my old TV I looked and seemed to see infinity, now the garlic and I see my wall, at the end of a week, I decided that I had to buy you a bigger house. As you can see it from both sides I placed it in the middle of the room, I called my friends to watch a game, it didn't work either, half of them shouted "kick to the right!" while the other half is confused "wasn't it to the left? After much thought, I discovered the true use of a transparent screen, I had the windows removed and transparent screens installed. Now yes, now I can see clouds on a beautiful sunny day, I can see rain on a beautiful sunny day, or just a beautiful snowy day. My street was sad and abandoned, now beautiful trees bloom on it and people pass by, one in a hurry, not from one side to the other. When I'm bored, I change the channel just to watch my neighbor's house burn. My deep gratitude to whoever invented the transparent screen, thank you.

Damn, Finding the perfect content for that TV would hard as that would have to be tailormade in CG or special cameras for that transparent video medium using webm or quicktime video formats that do support that or simply black to transparency filter which may not be ideal for every scene in a video.

I like how Vision Pro lets you see the room you are in virtually inside of your goggles without ever having to remove the goggles to look at the room you are in while you are wearing the goggles which let you see the room you are in which makes 3500 dollars seem like a BARGAIN. How much would it cost you to replicate the view you would normally use your eyes for and put that imagery on a screen less than an inch away from your own eyes? GENIUS!!! I'll take TWO please!!! (always have a backup for when one of them stops working a couple of months after the warranty expires)

I think it is more an application for a technical demonstrator. I think more useful applications are in lower price segment once you can combine the displays with mirrors or windows on a casual basis.

You should get started on the next script where Apple decides it was their idea and is launching a transparent iPhone, with the body of the phone stored in the fold, and the screen tinted. No more walking into street poles while texting. Now you can see the street and the rampant crime that comes with it. The more practical implementation is car window heads-up displays for navigation, speed warnings, and radio station control / car alerts. Nobody sane would want text messages or instagram / TikTok notifications in your face while driving.
